A Workout Routine with Your Dog?

So whenever I try to start up my Darebee routine my dog immediately runs over to jump/nip/circle me because I am obviously playing and of course she wants in.

I have tried playing with her beforehand, afterwards, during rests, etc. But she is not satisfied. She sees me kicking, squatting, lunging and doesn't get how she can participate. By my third set I get an angry "chuff" followed by a disappointed stare.

Has anyone found or tried to invent a workout they can do with their dog, like actively using pull toys or rope or something?

I have tried using her to counterweight me on single leg moves - she slowly pulls her tug rope while I grip the other end and lean forward on one leg, trying to balance - so I bet she'd be down to try out combo moves if I could come up with some.

Any ideas? (Besides jogging - we got that covered)

At least yours is trying to participate!
All mine does is freak out and run away: his people aren’t supposed to be on the ground unless they are dead, apparently! So, every time I start my workouts, he looks terrified and runs down to hide downstairs with the kids.

While the Paws workout is designed for a cat, I'm betting a dog would actually like to help with it.

My dog does the same thing as in participating. It takes a little bit for her to get interested and then it's bouncing jumping, going for hands, licking my face if I'm on the floor. It definitely makes do x things in a row (like daily dares) complicated and less likely to complete with ec. I'm definitely in for ideas beyond being a different room

My daughter and I were just puzzling over this too. Our 35 pound Brittany thinks she's a lapdog, so we did manage to get some weighted squats in while holding her. I think she might, in the right mood, tolerate be used for bicep curls
