The software DAREBEE runs on is getting a major update. It's something that's been in the works for the past several years and it's finally coming up. It's not an internal DAREBEE development but something we have to, eventually, comply with. It is a really good thing but at the same time, it's a nightmare for us to deal with. On the one hand, DAREBEE is going to be faster, smoother, more modern and flexible in terms of its bones. Visually, the resource will largely remain the same.
For us, though, on the development side it's the same as knocking down a building and raising it back up again. A lot of the functionality we currently have here is incompatible with the new system. We will have to solve that and we have about 9 months to do it. It's been at the top of our list for the past 3 months already and it's going to be on the agenda for the foreseeable future. It's crucial that we get it right so we are able to move on to the new advanced platform and be eligible for all the upcoming patches and upgrades after that.
Right now we are laying down the ground work for the upgrade, adjusting the site for the transition and looking for ways to make the switch as painless as possible, for us and for you. We are slowly pruning content, filters, layout and links. These are the changes you will be noticing throughout the process.
We will update you if anything major comes up. We just wanted to let you know what's happening - and why.
In the good news, it's very likely we will be able to bring Favorites back.
