I'm super excited. Hubs not so much since he saw the first spell had reverse lunges lol. But we were curious how many sides should the dice have and do we use 1 or 2?

I'll be honest, I've been here for 2 years and I looked at this program and I must say... GEEK MODE. ACTIVATE! I'm going to start this tomorrow (as it's currently 10pm here in NI) and I'll try to provide any feedback I can.
It's curious the program is about magic and I just finished the alfhiem arc of SAO which is about magic and the dice page, So. Cool (I know it's not a darebee product but still).

So excited for this program! Probably won't be my next one as that one will probably be another level 2 program but likely the one after that!

The chapters have 2d6 to roll for probability.

I think it should be 2, the instructions say that you can use your own 'set', and if you roll a total of 5 or less, your spell has failed. So, with only 1 dice it would be really hard to make a spell work

Let's see if I understand it. In chapter one it tells you to cast the Silent Step Spell. In order to "cast" the spell, you need to "charge" it by doing the required exercises. Then "probability," or the chance that the casting might fail, steps in. To determine whether it succeeds or fails you roll your dices. If you get 5 or less your spell fails, and you need to do the Silent Step exercises again to charge it, until you roll 6 or more.

Bbybear712 I think it's up to you. If you want more difficulty you can use 1 dice, or you can use 6 so you never fail, but I think 2 is nice.

kandy neilarey I'm a bit confused; the instructions say 'Rolling 5 in total or less means your spell has failed and is now used up. A different spell must be used instead.', I think it would be logical to recharge the spell that's been asked for, as kandy said, but the instructions say 'a different spell', so you have to choose another spell? Can it be whatever you like? Even though there's a specific purpose with the spell asked in the chapter?

kandy I did a bit of skimming through the program. Sometimes it says just to Charge and Cast a spell. Other times it says to Charge and Cast a spell as well as Roll for probability. This suggests to me that you don't have to roll for probability every single time you cast a spell, only the times in the program that you are prompted to. However, just like choosing the number of dice you roll can make the program easier or harder for you, you can choose to roll for probability for every single spell to increase the challenge!

Now that there is a spellbook, we can make a pile of new adventures built around them once we complete Spellbound!
