      Two minutes push the sky away last night.

      Well done, MamaT! And thank you for the examples. I've been to Chartres, but I don't clearly remember the Labyrynth (a long time ago). It's one my favourite buildings though I am not religious.

            So, I am 13/14 for evening meditation the past two weeks, and i would like to share a personal story.

            In July 2017 my youngest daughter attempted suicide and was diagnosed with Depression and Anxiety. She went through a partial hospitalization treatment program, is on meds, sees a counselor weekly, and has been doing better. Early Tuesday morning she attempted again, and is back in the mental health hospital.

            Of course, we were blindsided by this. However, I have been amazed at my ability to stay in the present without my thoughts spiraling out, but not in denial either. I have been able to sleep, but am not withdrawing and oversleeping. I have dealt with things regarding my daughter's treatment as I have needed to without becoming overwhelmed, and I have managed to focus on self-care and my relationship with my husband.

            I never feel like I am "getting it right" when i meditate, but these past few days have proven to me that the benefits are there. Even in the very short time i have been meditating, it has changed me.

              Wow, sorry to hear about your youngest daughter - and you having to deal with all the pain that comes with it. Hugs, and prayers for your family.

                  Cancer is tough, but I think serious depression may be harder in some ways. Hugs if you want them, and if your daughter wants them too.

                            Is it too late to join up now? Are there any prerequisites? I've started to find meditation to be the only way to help me balance my day out when I way up feeling miffed or just plain angry for no apparent reason.
