My parents visited us today. We went out for lunch. Maybe it was the food or just me eating to much but I felt bloated and lazy in the evening. It didn't help that the weather was heavy. So I felt a bit down and was squandering away my time on the internet. I always get annoyed at myself when I use to much time on the internet without purpose. For me a short workout usually helps if I'm feeling down. So I took hold of myself, changed clothes and made myself a little jump rope workout session outside. It rained lightly which suited my mood. It helped considerably on my mood and my well-being. Jump rope: 1*3 min - 5 * 2 min with 1 min rest between sets. Afterwards me and my wife went for an evening walk.

          Run (Beach) - total time; 54:12; 9,01km; 6'01"/km; HR 145 bpm; TE 2,9

Boxer Prime Day 25 lv 2 (1 min rest between sets)

          Comments
I started the day with a run at the beach and a swim. In the afternoon I finally managed to do Boxer Prime Day 25. Abs workouts are not my favorites as I often find them to monotonous and I get bored along the way. I was a bit concerned that the workout and especially the amount of sit-ups would make trouble for my lower back so I paid extra attention to my lower back during the workout. Fortunately all went well. My lower back didn't give me any trouble. I did register that my form on sit-ups is not 100 % correct as I have a tendency to move backwards when doing a lot of sit-ups. So I have made a mental note for myself: I have to pay attention to keeping my feet on the ground so not to use momentum and let the hip flexors take over.

I have to confess I didn't find the workout too hard but it was very long. It took me 45 min to complete the workout.

Today I decided to change scenery for my run. After a lot of endurance runs I had the feeling I needed to change scenery and I also felt I had the need for speed. So I decided to put together a 5km tempo run combining my run with my challenges. The tempo is based on my heart rate zones. It was a tough but fun run. It was difficult to maintain my speed at the last two rounds. I paused my watch when doing push-ups and jump rope skipping so it only recorded my run.

            5km speed drills:
            5 min warm-up (light tempo)

8 sets with no rest between sets
            1 set consisted of
            2 min (moderate tempo)
            1 min sprint (hard tempo)
            5 jump knee tucks
            20 push-ups
            1 min jump rope skipping

Today my oldest daughter Emilie and I went horseriding at Møns Klint og Klinteskoven. Emilie has been horseriding for years and she is an experienced rider. It was my third time horseriding at Møns Klint so this time I had got the energy to take som photos. We ride in a group on iceland ponies. It was a great adventure for both me and Emilie. I love horseriding especially gallop and I would ride more if I had more time. The ride took 2 hours and I was mentally exhausted at the end of ride from being

I had planned an evening workout with Boxer Prime but I decided to postphone the workout because of our adventures at Møns Klint. I was almost calling it a day but then after cleaning up the kitchen after supper and a fortifying cup of tea I decided to visit the Pushers Club. The Huntsman really got me sweating. After the Huntsman I did DoA combined with some bicep curls and finished of the 2000 Push-ups challenge.

Oh that looks absolutely wonderful! And the horseriding is a pretty good workout too, I imagine.

No push-ups today so to give my body time to recover.

Today I decided to do another 5km speed drills run. I did 10 rounds this time. It was a tough but fun run. My shoulders could really feel the load build up when I did the push-ups. Especially the last two rounds were gruelling. I paused my watch when doing push-ups and jump rope skipping so it only recorded my run. I did Stronghold and Man Down after my run. It did good for my legs and lower back. My parents-in-law visited us in the afternoon so I didn't have time to visit Pushers Club today.

                      5 min warm-up (light tempo)

Yes horse-riding is a good workout in itself

And our girls are getting big fast - you only have them 'on loan' for such a small amount of time

                          Dear friends

This thread has now been my home for nearly two years. It was only meant to be my training log for Age of Pandora but has along the way become my permanent cube at the Hive. So my first post has long outdated itself.

After some serious deliberations I have therefore updated my personal bio telling a bit more about myself. I have thought of doing this for some time but I have been uncertain whether to do this or not. What convinced me to do it is how we at the Hive reach out to each other in good and bad times and how our personal stories inspire each other. I was also inspired by this post by Ann-Core
                          So there it is

Sundance, thank you for sharing. It's hard to believe children as young as that are capable of causing so much damage to each other...awful, really. I wish the best to your family and especially Emilie - I hope she can work through her trauma and someday, leave it behind. But she is very lucky to have parents who took the time to listen to her and tried to help her the best you could - I know many people who would just brush it off as "growing pains" or a similar cliche, leaving the child to suffer. The situation must have been (or is) very tough on you and your wife as well and I'm glad you found an outlet for your frustrations - and a very positive one, which takes care of the physical as well as the psychological and emotional side of you. I am most happy that you are here.
