    Today was a big day for me as I resigned from my job at the City Council Secretariat, where I have been working for almost 20 years. After many engaging and challenging tasks serving the City Council of Copenhagen and several Lord Mayors, it is time for me to face new challenges.

    As you may know, in the summer of 2020, I enrolled in the Teacher Education programme, and I will concentrate on my studies for the next six months. After the summer holidays, I am looking forward to working as a secondary school teacher. I plan to have completed Teacher Education programme in the summer of 2023.

    I came to think of this quote today:

    "'It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out of your door,' he used to say. 'You step into the Road, and if you don't keep your feet, there is no telling where you might be swept off to.'"

                              Goals 2021

                              As some of you may remember, I was diagnosed with Graves disease in March, and I, therefore, had to change my perspective and my goals for 2021. I more or less intentionally abandoned the goals I had set for 2021 back in January. Instead, I began to run, swim and bike during the spring and summer and continued to run during the autumn and winter. I haven’t been running for almost two years because of an injury, and I didn’t think I could run again. So it was great to be able to run again.

                              I took a break from my training log for the second part of the year because work and my studies absorbed most of my spare time.
                              It was like visiting an old friend when I got on Christmas vacation and finally had the time to update my training log and catch up on friends threads at the Hive.

                              The lessons taught in 2021 will serve as beacons for my efforts in 2022.

                                Goals for 2022

                                My focus for 2022 is general fitness, emphasizing strength/tone, streamlining, cardio and flexibility.

                                To achieve this, I have set the following goals for 2022.

                                Push-ups: 22.000

                                Pull-ups: 600

                                A Virtual Trip Around The World 1890 (reboot): I plan to reach Cairo (London-Istanbul- Cairo), approximately 5.000 km of walking.

                                Consistency: To do three weekly runs and one light workout every day

                                To challenge me: Atom - how many sets can I do at the end of 2022?

                                Self-care: Read six books and collect and paint my Blood Bowl teams

                                Weight: 80 kg

                                Body fat %: 15

                                I have broken down my annual goals into smaller targets, which act as beacons for whether I'm on the right track or not.

                                Targets - push-ups: 60 push-ups (daily target)

                                Targets - pull-ups: 10 pull-ups (weekly target)

                                Target - Walking to Cairo: Daily ≥ 10.000 steps

                                Target - consistency: I aim to continue with Runner Prime as my primary program and another light program. I will spice it up with various workouts that appeal to me.

                                I'm excited to see what the year will bring.
