        My parents visited us today. I, therefore, decided to make it an active rest day, as I didn’t have time to train during the day. I was a lot less sore than I expected after yesterday’s push-up frenzy.

          Today I did Overdrive as my workout of the day with a target of 15 push-ups in each push-up segment. I managed to do 16 push-ups from the second set, which was an improvement of 1 push-up from last I completed the Overdrive workout. Five minutes of Indoor Rowing straight after my WOD is a perfect finisher as it pushes me even further towards muscle fatigue.

            We travelled to Ribe where we will be staying until Wednesday with my in-laws. As we arrived late in the evening, I decided to make the day an active rest day.

              Monday, July 13, 2020
              I have decided to increase the intensity of my HIIT workouts. After some consideration whether I should decrease the rest-time between the sets or increase the number of sets, I have decided to increase the number of sets. My analysis is as follows: A decrease in rest-time would mainly increase the cardiovascular load. In contrast, an increase in sets would both increase the cardiovascular load and the muscular load. So today I did eight sets of the Rockstar workout.

              Warm-up
              Vitality Day 5 lv III (no rest between sets)


              Cardio
              60 days of Cardio Day 50 lv I (no rest between sets)


              Workout of the Day (WOD)
              Rockstar lv III with ec (45-sec rest between sets)

              I did 8 sets instead of 7, and I managed to do 11 push-ups in each push-up segment throughout the workout.

              Regular: 5 push-ups

              Total of 70 push-ups: I did different push-up variations with 30-seconds rest between each variation: Regular, raised leg, stacked, staggered, wide, diamond, spider-man, decline. I did ten repetitions of each variation.

                Yesterday, we had dinner on Weis Stue. It was one of those dinners with a lot of meat, French fries, bearnaise sauce, almost no salad or accompaniments and a vast desert. Such a meal rich in protein and carbohydrates always makes me tired and sluggish. So, to compensate and to detox my body, I did the Homemade Hero twice. It’s a great workout, and I enjoyed it immensely. I felt much better afterwards.

                  I don't feel old most of the time, but rich meals and alcohol definitely take more of a toll these days than they used to.

                      Today, our trip to Ribe ended, and we travelled back to our summerhouse. I, therefore, didn't have time for my regular training program and decided to do Zen as a way to rest and recover after quite a few hours in the car.

                        The whole family was tired after our trip to Ribe. So we all took a rest and recovery day. We went to the beach in the afternoon. I didn't do much else during the day other than reading and spending some time in the garden.

                          I played badminton with Emma after I had finished the Night’s Watch workout. We play on the lawn trying to beat our previous record of how many times we can play the shuttlecock to each other. I was still wearing my weighted vest, and somehow we managed to more than double our previous record of 12 as we got 25 passings to each other. We were both very proud of our new record

                            In the afternoon, I mowed our lawn with a manual lawnmower. It was quite a workout in itself as the lawnmower is old-fashioned (heavy and cumbersome) so I was pretty tired afterwards. I had planned to train after I had mowed the lawn, but I didn't have any energy left. So instead, I did the Zen workout just before bedtime.
