Why is your mileage under-reported on the spreadsheet?

            Comment

Rainbow Dragon It is not always that I manage to update my training diary on a daily or weekly basis. There have been a couple of times this year that I have updated my diary with almost a month of records. The last time I updated my diary for almost one month of training, I thought it would give too much of a jump in the mileage recorded for our joint journey to Mordor. We would pass a waypoint without knowing the exact date which I didn't think would be fair to the rest of our traveling party. Therefore, I only updated the spreadsheet for the day I updated my diary.

I reckon the discrepancy between my diary and our joint spreadsheet is miles I have spent on finding our way, finding food, and looking for Mordor's servants

I had a busy work day as we had our second online city council meeting. Council meetings are conducted virtually and live-streamed on our website because of COVID-19. I with a few other colleagues (technicians and clerk staff) operate the meetings from the Council Chambers at City Hall while the elected members of Council participate remotely. All went smoothly. I was home at 8.30pm so I decided to do a quick workout which wasn’t too taxing.

Another busy day. This time not because of my work but because of daily chores. So I didn’t have time to train during the day. I had some spare time in the evening. Not surprisingly, I was too tired for my usual training session at this time so I decided to do the Friday workout. Why? Well, because it is Friday

I lost my motivation today because of a bad experience at work. It was one of those incidents which happens from time to time where you are asked to perform a task that makes no sense what so ever. Usually I do not get annoyed as it is part of one's working life to have to do tasks that do not always make good sense. This time it is a daily recurring task for the next couple of weeks that needs to be done first thing in the morning. So I now have to start my day being reminded of doing a task which has no value. I know from past experience that it takes me a few days to process this and to work through the negative feelings and emotions. Instead of staying negative, I will try to turn it into a learning experience and get to know myself better. So I will use this as an opportunity to reflect on the following question: “Why do I react as I do in this situation and why does it bother me so much.”

                            Easier said than done

Anyway, for the moment it ruined my daily rhythm. So I'll probably first get started on my regular workout program this weekend.

The last couple of days have been the most difficult as I have craved a piece of chocolate because of the frustrating task at work. I managed not to give in
