Thanks everyone: JCU, TheLibrarian, Anek, CODawn, DorothyMH! It was a nice hike. I seem to have lost my way to the Hive since getting back from it. I'm transitioning my primary residence back to the house in the city, and feeling very disrupted by it. I have done nothing towards my goals since.
The three things on my mind are work, paddling and a neglected home. I may need to start going into the office a couple days a week keeping me in town. The new kayaks bring opportunity for bigger adventures on the water, and a few safety instruction (planned for next week) to go with it. My illness has kept me from doing any yardwork for the past three springs. My garden is a jungle. Now that I can garden again, I have a lot of work ahead. My strimmer broke on the first day out. The jungle continues to grow as I wait for a replacement part.
A week ago I finally put the new kayak in the water. I have been out in it twice now. Both days paddling through the same fresh-water estuary off Lake Washington. I have not taken it out into the lake proper. That's still to come. It's nice back here in the slack water. There are lots of Great Blue Herons, turtles and ducks.
