Just got caught up on your new log (been working away at it for a few days). Your commitment to what you value in your life is inspiring. Despite all the upheavals. Rain or shine. You roll with the punches and keep a steady head on your shoulders. You go after your goals and knock 'em down one after the other. You really are Captain Canuck!

I hope that your move has gone well and that you can all enjoy being settled in your new home (and that you find your winter clothes soon!)

Anek Zastria Thanks! It hasn't exactly gone as smoothly as I had hoped, but something always seems to go wrong with a move. Just in this case, it is several things.

Ninshubur Thanks! I appreciate your uplifting words.

Despite having about 100 things to do this week in regards to getting the house ready, I have mostly been sitting at home waiting for the cable guy to show up. Granted, I missed the first appointment on Monday, though the person that I booked with said that it would 95% be done remotely because of the pandemic. That turned out not to be the case, and then the installer missed Tuesday's appointment, showed up for about 5 minutes on Wednesday, said that he needed another person, and then no-showed again for Thursday. At last a different installer showed up today and so I finally have an internet connection. This meant that I was putting off some more important stuff (like installing a carbon monoxide detector) but I am starting to catch up, though we are also going away for the weekend. Anyway, so these entries are back dated to Tuesday:

Another busy day with moving. I made the realization at about a quarter past midnight that I had forgotten about an entire mattress to move in the morning, so I decided that I had to do another trip to the new place. Because of this my step count was over 1300 by 1 in the morning. I ended the day at over 16,000.

No time or access to a pullup bar again today, so I guess it goes down as another rest day. In the evening I did the new dumbbell workout, Mave (level II, EC) and Ab Hub (level I, EC).

The two workouts had a total of 98 pushups, so I just had to add 2 at the end.

Still busy with all the moving stuff, though I did get a chance for a run in the morning through the new neighbourhood. The fitness tracker said it was 4.2 km and I ran it in 32:50 which is a slow time for that distance. On the other hand I spent a fair amount of time not knowing where I was going and backtracking or stopping to check the map on the phone. This is why I prefer to drive or walk running routes first, though not always possible. There are some interesting similarities between my most common route in Thunder Bay and this new route, mainly that the route follows a creek for a long part of the run.

Step count for the day was over 16,000, due to the run, a short walk and some errands.

I got to the exercise park finally and did 24 pullups, in two sets of 6 and the rest in sets of 3. It seems as though my arm is pretty much back to normal, except a bit of tightness in the triceps that I wasn’t expecting.

I also did 100 pushups in the evening, but no workouts today.

Though we are not really fully moved in yet, I am trying to get back into a routine. So this morning I got my wife to drop me off at one of the regular exercise parks so that I could run back home. Before I got going, I did 24 pullups in 2 sets of 6 and 4 of 3. I did 6.9 km in 42:24, which is still not as fast as I can, but more in line with regular times after yesterday’s strange time and distance. Once again it is interesting to have mapping software to plot routes. Even ten years ago this would not have been possible, but having online mapping helps me to find a lot of interesting routes. For instance today I had to run through a bus stop (including down one flight of stairs, the red structure in the pictures below) to continue on my route. Towards the end of the run I ran through a parking lot of a mosque to get to a virtually invisible path at the back of it. If not for those shortcuts, I would have been stuck following busy roads, and in fact I lived right near this running route for about 8 months and had no idea that it was there (though it has been there longer than I have been alive.). This route incidentally also follows alongside the continuation of the creek that I ran next to the previous day. Also with this run I have run from the centre of the city to the hospital, from the park at the starting point today to the hospital, and then from the park to home. As I live close to the edge of the city, that means over the course of three runs that I have practically run through the entire city. Thanks to the run and more errands run today, my step count for the day was over 15,000.

This evening I did Codex (level I, EC) and Master Plank (EC). I added another 88 pushups to the 12 from Codex for 100.

It was another chaotic day today, as I lost 2.5 hours in the morning for the cable installation (to be fair though, the installer was great). This meant I lost the ability to do a lot of other things that I would have liked to have gotten done. My step count for the day was over 9,000 thanks to more errands for moving in.

In the evening I did Carver (level I, EC), Solid Core (Level I, EC) and Extra Crunch (EC). I mixed the pushups in between exercises and got 100 done.

Glad to hear you are able to do pull-ups again! And awesome photos!

Mostly a travel day. I did 100 pushups and also did the 2 Minute Workout in the parking lot of a rest stop. This is a decent workout for stretching legs after driving, though I am not sure why it is listed as an abs workout as it is mostly a full body workout.

Step count was over 7000 steps.

As usual pretty great that bodyweight workouts can be anywhere, even an empty parking spot in a parking lot.

We are on the move again with another day of travel, though somewhat more relaxed than some of the one that we have had in the past two months. Thanks to my obsessive search for exercise parks in Ottawa, I knew that there were some to look for in Southern Ontario as well, and so with a bit of looking around some suburbs today, we found an exercise park made from the same company. I was keen to do the new pullup bar workout, Vegeta (level I, EC), and I did it there. I did 6 each time for pullups and did 30-20-20 on pushups. For the leg raises I did 10-10-9, as my grip failed on the last set, but I got back up and did one more just to complete sets of 10. I also added 6 more pullups after. It is a funny name - I know it is inspired from a Dragon Ball character, but the same name is a condiment/spice mix very common in Eastern Europe.

We did a visit to a playground with family in the afternoon, which helped me get to 9,000 steps for the day.

The hotel where we are staying has a pool and we went for a family swim later, which mostly meant the boys walking up and down the stairs that lead into the pool, though they got brave enough towards the end to let us take them all the way in (to be fair, it is well above both of their heads). Just to say I did it, I swam two laps, one breast stroke which took about 5 strokes, and one crawl which took about the same.

After the boys fell asleep I did Abs On Fire (level I, EC) and the remaining 30 pushups to make 100 for the day.

Today was day 3 of our mini-vacation, and we spent the day in and around Niagara Falls. I started the morning with a run, and chose a route that I had in mind ever since I started running again, alongside the river and falls. I was a bit exasperated by my time, as when I planned it ahead of time it said that it was 6.0 km, and I ran it in 40:49. The fitness tracker said that it was actually 7.0 km though, which is a decent time considering that the EC standard for 7 km in the Cardio Trim Run program is for 40 minutes, and I stopped more than a few times to take a picture. Despite the over-development adjacent to the falls, the route itself is quite beautiful, with one of the world's best waterfalls and the river alongside. It was a foggy morning though, so the spray from the falls hung in the air a bit longer and didn't allow for the best panorama.

It was a busy day with lots of walking. Step count was over 18,000. We got to three playgrounds during the day as well. The last playground that we went to was part of yet another exercise park by the same company as usual. I did 24 pullups there as well as Lean & Mean (level I, EC) and Sofa Abs (level I, EC). The latter of these two I did on the workout bench. It was kind of a strange exercise park though as the stations were spread out by about 200 meters.

In the evening I did Killer Abs (level I, EC) and 100 pushups.
