    I got a 5.6 km run in before work yesterday morning. It was a mostly boring route, just running a neighbourhood that I had only been through once. I got out early enough (started around 8 AM) but the temperature was already around 20 degrees, with more from the humidex. I wasn't really feeling at my best though, so the time was only OK, 31:53.

      I mowed the lawn this morning. Due to a number of logistical challenges, it was the first real time that I did the lawn this year. Much easier than the one that I had last year which would take upwards of an hour. This is probably more like 20 minutes at most.

      It was a strength training day, so I did Ultimate Fighter (level I, EC) and Classic Abs (EC) in the evening. I took these kind of slow, so maybe not fully qualified for EC after all, but my rest times between sets were on the mark.

        I decided to move the training days around this week because it was going to be hard to get out for a run tomorrow, and incidentally we were in a decent neighbourhood for a run today. It was pretty warm by the time that I got started, only by around 1030 AM because of travel time, and so it was already around 22 degrees and feeling more like 28 with the humidity. I did 6.0 km in 35:05.

          I did a splash pad in the morning with the boys, which is not really exercise, but at least was active. Otherwise mostly stayed close to home on what was a hot summer day.

          In the evening I did Finish Line (EC), Limitless and Footwork (EC).

            Because I moved the cardio day up one, today was the second straight day of casual training, so I loaded a couple of stretching workouts - Afterparty and the Finisher.

              It was a pretty busy day at work, so I was pretty tired when I got home. I was going to do the regular Monday night workout, but I decided on something else. So I did Ultimate Fighter (level I, EC) and Callisto (Level I, EC).

                Not so much of a tiring day at work, but the consecutive days are catching up with me. Luckily, today was stretching/casual, so I did one workout - Farpoint.

                  I did a run yesterday morning. I have been looking at some routes on the map since a few months, not really having known that they were there at all before. Problem being was that they were snow covered until not long ago, and since then I have the problem of time available for running them. As a result, I discovered an interesting path that I had never known about, across the river from an area where I have exercised a lot. The route wasn't all on this path, but definitely that part was the highlight. The temperature was around 19-20 degrees. I did 6.4 km in 37:40.

                        My work is apparently, at some point in the near to mid future (or possibly distant future), going to provide employees with an "lifestyle" bonus, meant to be put toward educating ourselves or keeping ourselves healthy. In the interest of that, I signed up for a gym tour this morning of a nearby gym, and will now be eligible for a one week trial period to the gym. Because I dressed the part and showed up in exercise equipment, and because my wife was waiting in a playground about 2 km away, I decided to do a short run back to meet up with her afterwards, even though according to the training plan, today is supposed to be a strength day. So I ran 2.2 km in 12:13.

                        After doing so, we went for a short walk through a forested area in the park, which coincidentally also has a small exercise circuit, with some outdoor exercise equipment. I tried a couple, and managed to do 4 pullups on the bars (though non-consecutive). It is a little bit different from all the other outdoor exercise parks in the city, as it is the only one that I have found that is built by another company (all of the others being TrekFit and this one being VitaCourse).

                            calendula This city does do a bit better in terms of outdoor space for physical activities than most cities that I have lived in.

                            I had a busy enough day as it is our national holiday (Canada Day). I walked a bit with the boys around midday (around 2.5 km), but didn't get into any other physical activity other than chasing them around the splash pad for a bit later on.

                            The evening didn't turn out as planned, first as my wife is scheduled for work in the morning but there are also fireworks going off throughout the neighbourhood. So she took over my sleeping space in the basement, the opposite end of which is also my exercise area. Also got a call from family that pushed way into exercise time, so I ended up just doing Flexible Today.

                              Our schedule only worked out for an evening run today, which is completely fine, but not something that I can rely on long term as the days are already getting shorter. We were in one of our favourite neighbourhoods for post-work relaxation, and I ran there. Time was not the best, 5.3 km in 33:11. Temperature was around 26 degrees, not sure of the humidex.

                                A casual training day today, so I did a couple of stretching exercises: Hamstring Stretch and Part 2.
