Yeah sometimes you need something that you don't have do think about but can just start with.

Montserrat I am still working out the kinks in my training plan, so it is nice to have something to rely on.
Today was a a rest day, so I loaded up on yoga workouts, Freya (EC), Inner Warrior and Face the Day.

Whirly Anek Thanks! It was mostly a pretty boring run (much of it was along a four lane road/highway) but I did plot some nicer parts like this green corridor.
According to the schedule, today is strength day, so I did Arms and Abs (EC), Bodyguard (level I, EC) and Crucible (level I, EC). I have been putting off the first workout for a while, mostly because it has 5 sets with timed exercises, but it was the last of the level 2 upperbody workouts to complete so I figured I might as well get around to it. As proof of the differing levels within levels, each of the last two workouts is a level 4, but the first of the two was much more challenging. The two work together well, but the first one was better due to the overall mix.

It has been a few challenging days since my last post. On Saturday we got hit with a derecho, a high powered storm with winds over 100 km/h, which knocked out the power for about 1/5ths of the city's residents. The damage was severe enough in our neighbourhood that the power has been off since then. Also this is complicated by the fact that we were leaving for a short trip on Tuesday, when our power still wasn't back on. So this post captures those missed days, four in total.
On Saturday I had to go to pick up something early in the morning, and as I had a run scheduled, I decided to run in the proximity of the store that I had to go to. I did 6.1 km in a relatively slow 40:26, as I wasn't feeling 100% and as it unfortunately corresponded with another somewhat hot day (around 30 degrees with the humidity by 8 AM).
On Sunday I did Juno (EC) and Fix It! On Monday I did Guts. Both nights I did these workouts by flashlight only as there was no other power.
I meant to do more on Tuesday morning, but we had to get to the dump to throw out all of the spoiled food from the refrigerator. Because of this I only had time for Limitless before leaving for work.

That storm sounds pretty crazy, hope everything is okay with your power now!

Montserrat We didn't know until we got back tonight, but yes we got power back!
calendula Thanks, it all worked out.
Sif_Shepard There are still trees down all over the neighbourhood. Apparently arborists are working full time, but there are not enough to handle the demand.
Whirly All is good ...
Just got back tonight from our journey. We were gone for 9 days, the longest that we have ever been gone with the boys and the longest journey since before the pandemic. As mentioned above the journey got off to a rocky start. We left home with a bunch of clothes locked inside out washing machine, which had been on when the power went out. Also on our first night we hit a major traffic jam in Montreal which meant that instead of arriving at the hotel around midnight on the first day, that we arrived at 230AM. Also for the first four days of the journey I was not feeling 100% due to some intestinal problem, which probably wasn't helped by not having any fresh food for the previous four days (was mostly doing takeout during the power outage.) On the start of the second day it started to rain, which carried on for about two more days and which forced out to skip a day of camping for a hotel instead. That hotel and the one that day after, had such a small footprint available in the rooms that I could barely move. Also we were in the same time zone but moving further East so our days were getting shorter at night, which meant a lot of earlier bedtimes for everyone.
Long story short ... seeing as there were so many problems, I decided to mostly give exercise a pass will on vacation. It was a great vacation though, maybe a lot more unexpected than usual on a vacation, but I feel as though I have had so many vacations go so perfectly in the past that I am making up for that luck.
As expected we were pretty active, with lots of steps everyday (though lost count at one point, because the fitbit died, and couldn't find the charging cable in the dark before leaving.) Also my younger boy has figured out how much easier it is to be carried on my shoulders when walking as opposed to doing it himself, so a lot of my walking was with an extra 18 kg on my back.
I did do a workout on every day, though most of the time it was only Gone Wild. At one point we came across an exercise park that I was not expecting so I did Push and Pull Express there.
Our last day (today) was in Montreal. Going back to last autumn, I have been going to a lot of exercise parks in the city where we live. They are all built by the same company and the company is based in Montreal, and so not surprisingly one of the best of these parks in there too. Not that I have done an exhaustive search on their website, but this is the only one that I have found that has one obstacle called "The Crossing of Giants" and also has outdoor trampolines as well as a great system of pullup bars. Too bad there is not one such gym around here.
Back to the regular schedule starting tomorrow.
