    ​ WoD One day at a time - Level 1

    Today i had a difficult conversation that was heavy on me the last couple of days and it went ok. I felt a ton lighter afterwards, so i was finally ready for running, which was necessary to go on with the Pathfinder program. I used the Zombies-Run-5K app for the first time and that is real fun. Especially when one runs through the dark forest. I walked uphill for half an hour and ran a bit before i started the first episode, because i knew i wouldn't get to 20 running minutes otherwise. Anyway, by the time i listened to the story i was already in the woods and the sun was completely gone. Besides i am not used to run with earbuds and more or less without the natural surrounding sounds. That clearly gave it some extra. Thanks to everybody who mentioned the app, that was clearly an inspiration.

    Back home i went through the usual and once again skipped the exercise of the day for the workout of the day. Luckily it's always pretty balanced, one of those is usually an easy option and doable for me.
    Now i feel pretty relaxed and look forward to tomorrows cross training course.

      The Cross Training was tough today and a lot of fun again. It's really good but i need to skip everything else. With a possibly upcoming cold and period pain it's enough for today.

            Stepcount is till midnight, another 3000 followed till before. Those will show up on the next log. I lost my duolingo streak tonight and my neighbours have a wild party going which does not give the impression of ending any time soon.

                huma the party was over at around 4 in the morning and slept till almost 11am. At least it's weekend. The music was ok, their bellowing along was questionable and it's embarrassing to feel so old with stuff like that.

                It's a fresh but sunny sunday and i was a bit active…

                  Hi, and belated welcome to the Hive. I can tell you that noting workouts in the Hive helped me a TON with consistency, after hit and miss efforts for years. I’m glad you’re giving it a try.

                    Have fun with the ZR 5k. I've found it's really been helping me - at least to run on a treadmill. And when you save a runner - my, what an ego-boost! Looking forward to hearing about your experiences with it, especially as you do it outside.

                        DorothyMH it's exactly the same for me. I don't remember how often i started the Foundation program and never made it past day 20 at best. Now i am about to finish my second program in a row plus several additional stuff.
                        TopNotch i do have fun although i'm not sure if i can and really want/should stick to the ZR program for now. I think i am too heavy to seriously run and it would probably be better for my joints to loose some weight first. Also the dark and cold season is about to start. But the latter is probably rather pro running - it warms you up and i imagine it helps with happiness hormones. Let's see, i am curious myself how this continues.
                        huma it's really well done and fun and free to try.

                          mavie Don't think of yourself as too anything to run. And remember, the runs in ZR are free-form runs, meaning you can walk and run as you like/can. I've read from other people doing it that some of them have done only 15 seconds of running in the "runs" outside the drills. And others have re-done weeks when they've not felt up to progressing to the next week. Not sure about the happiness hormones kicking in - I've been waiting! But I do get the "satisfaction hormone" when I've completed a workout.

                              TopNotch I am going to run 5K, just maybe not within the next eight weeks. My comment was not meant as judgemental towards myself as it may sound, but it's a fact i don't want to ignore completely. And thanks for the reminder, seriously, i'll keep it in mind.
