If you feel depressed, go outside, take a walk. I mean it. This can help much more than moping away on your room. Get out. Doesn't matter where to, just get some fresh air.

Not an argument, for a future adventurer!

HellYeah Maybe so but I need to sort my clothes out my brand new boots fell apart (the eyelets all broke on one boot) and I have no outdoorsy trousers.

I'll be looking to get (at the bare minimum) a pair of outdoor trousers.

A walk in the rain can be nice, too. I actually like going out in heavy rains and get drenched to my bones.
About your boots: Maybe you can fix them by tacking leather squares over the eyelets and reinforce the holes with o-rings. Depending on your boots, of course. It won't look pretty, but could get the job done. Remember: Adventuring is also a lot about improvising.

But you sound better, hope you're doing well.

lofivelcro they're timberland boots so the have the wee hooks, couldn't fix them if I tried but I'll maybe try modding them.
I sound better? Probably because I get excited thinking about adventuring, exotic places, new foods and interesting people but I have to try and figure out how I am going to practice skills with work 5 days a week, BJJ 3 nights a week, eventually the Youth group will be restarting and my general low energy after work... maybe I need to make it a game, like the 4 daily commissions in Genshin Impact 🤔, find enemies and beat them, deliver goods, that kinda thing.
                Something to think about...

So I am finished with work and am too tired to do anything... I think I'll have to look at my "Adventurer practice" schedule and change it to days I'm not in work.

I am starting to wonder if saving to go to Japan is even feasible because it's now been about a month since we decided this and still haven't saved a penny... maybe my other, more short term idea of hiking across Northern Ireland as a fund raiser for my youth group wouldn't be more attainable...

It certainly sounds like a more reachable goal at the moment. And because it's closer, you're more likely to pull through with it. You can always save for Japan on the side. Maybe opening an extra bank account for that would be an idea. Something where you can put all leftover money and don't just can pull it out of a jar.
Can you walk around after your work shift? You're still at the beginning of your job, but in time, you'll get used to the workload. But if you can just walk around town for 20-60 minutes after work you can build walking endurance, learn to deal with the weather and climate and hone a bit your mental strength. Try it out if you like.

So I did not get to the in house competition last Sunday but my brother won gold in his weight bracket.

Training tonight (done) and shit just got real . I searched the IBJJF weight brackets and, if I were to compete right now, I'd be a "middle" (76kg) but my brother want me to go to "light" (70kg).
The lads in the gym have added me to the "not so slim" camp weight board so now everyone's going to see how fat I am 🤣
The No Gi stuff still is not here 😡 (I want my No Gi stuff).

Now I am trying to decide if I should do a "diet plan" to get to 70kg now so I can maintain and continue to get stronger while not having to do any drastic weight cuts (I've seen my brother do many a weight cut, it is not pretty)

No BJJ tonight as the instructor who takes the Tuesday class has covid but should be fine by next week.

So I have a day off training so I might take a look at the suggestions lofivelcro gave me for skills to practice for adventuring but I'm exhausted so might pick a simple one.

Financial stability is hard, I've never had a job in my life so figuring out how to manage my money is hard (I'm not paying for a house or anything but I want a new tattoo, I need a Gi, I want to go to Japan and I might get some Tatami clothing or mats) but I have absolutely zero self control with the money...

Let me know if you need some help with anything coming up regarding your adventuring... well.... adventure.

And the best (and hardest) advice for gaining a bit of financial stability is to stop wasting money on things you don't need. Think about why you want something, how much you benefit from it in the long run and if it's really worth your money. Personal opinion: A tattoo probably isn't that important. And I say that as someone who has one.

lofivelcro yeah I will probably end up redoing my finances next week or so. I have 2 tattoos but I just want the new one, you're right though I may not bother with it.

So my whole family is out tomorrow morning and then we have a meeting with the parents of our youth section in the evening.

I am sitting in my room rn just hyped up on caffeine but seriously considering adding gardening (fruits, vegetables and herbs) to my foraging section of my adventurers skills. My dad got into growing vegetables in 2020 and I am getting into it.

I was just reading my foraging book and (to my surprise) sunflowers are edible 😐. I flicked through it just reading names and not actually reading but at the end there's a section on making tea and that got me thinking 🤔 I have a very large mint plant that is in need of a trim and I love mint so tomorrow my first adventurers skill will be making tea...
I might try just mint or mint and another herb, maybe the sweet basil if its big enough.

I made an attempt at it, I made fresh tea (from plant to pot) it went well. I also attempted drying the leaves (in the oven) and have yet to try it. I ALSO made strawberry and mint flavoured water (not tried yet, check for an edit later) and I am trying "air dried" leaves later or tomorrow as I am unsure how long to leave the leaves to dry or how they should look/feel.

I am thinking that I'll not worry about completing in BJJ this year but in the new year I'll start focusing on getting to a competition I'll need to lose 6kg in bodyweight (as of rn but there's still Christmas to come).

                                Edit #1
I threw out the oven dried leaves, they smelt burnt. I stripped the air dried leaves from the branches (my mint plant in now nearly bare) but I am not sure if they're dried right, I will have a cuppa b4 bed and update you then.

                                Edit #2
The air dried leaves are definitely better but I am not sure they are "dried up" in a sense.
There is definitely a difference between fresh brewed mint tea and store bought stuff.
