    UTalk - Tagalog (24 minutes)

Beat Saber (22 minutes) (Normal - OST 1) (I did not sleep great and still woke up early. As a consequence, I was really dragging my butt around. So, rather than force the Qigong and Yoga which did not seem to want to happen, I jumped into this evening's cardio routine to get the blood pumping. I took a break at around 10 minutes and managed to notch a few high scores in the second half, after I had warmed up. I feel awake and energized now!)

Dinner out with my girlfriend who had been travelling. It was Wings Night and there were a lot of salt and calories, but they were well worth it! I did get a Greek Salad instead of fries. So, I didn't go full tilt!

Hahaha, lofivelcro ! But, it seems half the adjectives in Tagalog begin with ma- . I haven't studied the grammar, so I am not sure why ... as yet!

In case anyone is wondering about my undescribed Daily Gratitudes, it tends to be a list of people almost exclusively. Family, friends, clients, co-workers or professionals that happen to pop into my mind or that I expect to have an interaction with during the course of the coming day. I don't really worry about the length of the list (some days it's longer than others), but I find expressing gratitude for my human connections important and valuable. Going back about a decade, I was very isolated. I recently found a list of goals I had made back then and one of the items on it was to talk to someone (anyone) every day. It took a lot of inner work involving the letting go of limiting beliefs and ideas. I also have had to learn how to socialize more effectively through counselling and trial-and-error. It was difficult at times, but I feel much more involved, connected and happier now!

After 1 week of mindful eating, I have dropped 3.4 lbs. / 1.5 kg. I haven't drastically changed much, except generally just listening to my hunger, not snacking on obviously bad things (except on Friday and then with portion control) and logging with myfitnesspal (which is, indeed, a p.i.t.a.). I know that the calorie count is just an approximation with myfitnesspal, especially when eating at a restaurant or something home-cooked, so I mostly worry about the mindfulness aspect. If I can stay committed and vigilant for 8 more weeks, the result should be quite satisfying!

So, today, I fell into a Video Game Hole. I haven't really played any video games except Beat Saber (which I use for cardio) in about 5 months. But, then I followed an ad on facebook to what looked like a puzzle game. It is decidedly not a puzzle game, but sort of a fantasy management, browser free-to-play game. It is has a lot of easy wins, cutesy characters, bright colors and I played it for most of the day. Yes, I fell off this wagon. Luckily, the rest of my caravan is still rolling along smoothly.

I saw my Physiotherapist / Acupuncturist today. He was surprised that In terms of adhesions / scar tissue, my left shoulder is much improved from when I saw him many months ago. I was considering discontinuing my shoulder stretches, but it seems that they are very much doing what they are supposed to be doing. I directed him to the area that gets aggravated pretty much whenever I work out. His initial manual manipulation was incredibly painful, but I am to return for some acupuncture in a week. If this could be sorted out, it would greatly enhance my quality of life. Also, it may help clear up the numbness in my left pinky which the surgery seems to have had no noticeable effect on.

I'm still giving my shoulder a rest to help it heal, so I took a brisk 30-minute walk in the morning.

My well laid plans have pretty much collapsed because of this game I discovered. Like any addict on a binge, I am somewhat neglecting my health. But, at least, I won't have spent my rent money and gone without food or a shower for a week when I am done. Tomorrow is another day to get back on the horse.

Despite not being much active this week outside of work, I managed to shed another 3 lbs, / 1.4 kg! That is looking at this week's average weight versus last week's. Now that I have some data points, I can look at weekly averages instead of daily weights, which can fluctuate radically. My sleep was pretty choppy last night, however.
