I know right, DorothyMH , JCU (thank you! ) I'm glad that they managed to quit their corporate jobs and can live off of teaching yoga, but that's no reason for condescension.

Hah, Fremen , that would complicate things a bit.

I think I'm going to sign up for another half marathon that'll be on 16 January. It was evident that I would run throughout the winter anyway, but an extra bit of motivation never hurts. I also like the pattern of my first two half marathon races being in unconventional times: one in the middle of summer, at night, and the other one in the middle of winter, instead of the regular spring/autumn race seasons.

Also, here's a bit of Potyka, because cat pics are always worth sharing. He's still a very loooooong cat.

I agree with you both, Mianevem and DorothyMH. If yoga is supposed to be about relaxing and meditative, why monologue unless it's vanity?

On a much better note, that cake looks scrumptious!

    Before breakfast

Balance wasn't my forte here. The "awkward planks" were wobbly, the two-legged dogs were impossible. It was in general not an easy session, but I knew what I signed up for after starting a Breathe & Flow video that had the word "advanced" in the title.
But I was surprised by how Flo's monologue rubbed me the wrong way towards the end. He said that a 30-min yoga class can't offset the damages of a whole day spent sedentary and that we should make sure to move throughout the day. These are valid points, of course, but he continued it by saying something along the lines of "so you either take it seriously to plan your daily exercise, or you will just disregard this piece of knowledge and continue your unhealthy life". I'm sure he didn't mean it this way, but it felt to me as if he basically told the viewers that if they don't move their bodies enough, it's entirely their fault. In some cases, it's true. But while I myself am lucky to be able to afford the luxury of running nearly every day and doing various workouts and taking the extra time to walk instead of using the public transportation, try to tell, say, a single parent working two jobs to make ends meet that it's their fault that their back hurts constantly and they should just exercise more… you'll either be laughed at or be awarded with a murderous glare, depending on said parent's current stress levels. (Also, yes, Flo, I did squat a lot as a kid. No, my heel didn't touch the ground even then. No, it's not because I ruined my ankle with my lifestyle.)
Apart from this mild annoyance, it was a fun session.

    Midday
25 min walk to the supermarket

    Late afternoon
120 jumping jacks -- Day 20 of Daily Cardio
Day 21 of Zero Hero | lvl III
Minerva -- lvl III | 2 min rest
    foam rolling and stretching
    (Σ: 45 min)

    Evening
    Chapter 20 of Pathfinder +

I'm sitting on the train now, heading towards Nyíregyháza for the weekend. My mother had her 66th birthday yesterday, and though she doesn't like to be the center of attention, I wanted to go home and celebrate it. My boyfriend is coming, too, which is good, because we both need a little break from work (although despite our best efforts, we will still both have to work just a little bit over the weekend). Having to pack before leaving and also having to bake my mother's birthday cake -- a simple tarte au citron meringuée -- I didn't have much time to work out, which meant that I left a lot of people behind as a pathfinder. Training with weights really can't be rushed, especially if the weights are slightly heavier than what you could complete so many sets with. Oh, well,
I'm sure they can row through that river if they really want to.

Since we're not at home during the weekend, the workouts will be spread out in an unconventional way. My boyfriend will have an online rpg session Saturday evening, and my plan is to squeeze all the running training I have for the weekend in that time frame, which means a 90-min-long session, mostly in zone 2. It'll feel nice, I think, with the cool weather and the different environment. As for the rest of my planned workouts, I'll do them sometime too, though only to lvl I.

(I promise I'll make a photo of the cake! But we'll have to slice it first because for now you'd only see the meringue. )
