...that's the meaning of my username which is a transcription of χαλεπὰ τὰ καλά - an ancient Greek aphorism.
One week ago I didn't even know that DAREBEE exists but here I am (and I already donated 10£ because the concept convinced me really fast) ^^.
I chose to be a Spartan here on DAREBEE because I know ancient Greek (I learned it at uni), speak modern Greek every day (my SO is Greek) and I'm on my way to get the mindset of a disciplined fighter who strengthen his body and mind with daily hard training.
Today I'm 27 years old, 179cm tall and 77kg heavy - my technical specifications

I'm not in bad shape concerning my strength and endurance but in terms of flexibility/mobility and coordination, there is a lot of space for improvement. In general, I want to improve continuously my all-around fitness and maybe start again with combat sport/self-defense when gyms will be open continuously.
When I left secondary school (and thereby mandatory sport lessons too) in 2009 I stopped doing sports regularly.
I worked as a powerline worker for some years after school and my opinion was that I don't need to do sports because I already do heavy physical work.
Sadly I kept that mindset when I attended the gymnasium in 2014 in order to study at the university. I had a lot of neck and lower back pain from my sedentary lifestyle - and I didn't even recognize why!
In 2018 my girlfriend and I experienced a threatening situation and we started with Krav Maga. There we started exercising regularly and we understood the importance it has for our body and mind.
Half a year later we moved and we couldn't attend Krav Maga lessons anymore. After a little break I started to attend Kick-Boxing classes at my uni but after the semester holidays we had the first lockdown and I had some psychological problems - I didn't exercise for half a year till last June.
Then I subscribed to Freeletics which was a very good decision as not the exercises itself hindered me to work out but to create and organize a workout routine on my own. Since then I worked out for nine months straight (with some little breaks for medical reasons).
- That's my training journey so far
I'm here on DAREBEE to get additional challenges, some variation, training plans with equipment (as such a thing doesn't exist in Freeletics) and the hive to log all my trainings and to develop my future training direction.
Have a nice evening 😉✌️
