I got promoted at work, which is something I'm excited for from a professional standpoint but extremely disappointed in in terms of my financial gain. There's a labor shortage going on fleetwide and a lot of people are covering work for missing people, including me. Basically, my supervisor left and I'm stepping up. However, there's no one coming to replace me, so I'll be doing double the job. My job is basically a mixture of technical and creative work, I film, edit and broadcast on a daily basis, I'm in charge of satellite maintenance, broadcast systems, troubleshooting, I work as theater show support + with my new position there's also team management & organization, paperwork, inspections, blablabla. I'm just starting to think that for the level of work I'm doing, I deserve more (and I've heard that other companies do pay more and give more benefits). Which is why I was so disappointed when I saw my salary "increase". Anyway, the plan is this: I'll finish my contract as best as I can to gain experience. A lot of people are super excited that I'm taking over because the supervisor that left was sometimes a bit difficult to work with and I know that I'm a pretty good team player. As soon as I'm used to the new routine, I'll finally update that CV and send out job applications and see what's out there. Hopefully, I can get a good offer and this could also give me ground to re-negotiate my contract at my current place, because, believe it or not, I actually feel pretty ok working here (I've worked at a lot of really shitty places so I know what's out there; granted, there can also be something better out there as well). Unfortunately, liking my work won't pay my bills, especially with prices rising like there's no tomorrow.
My knees are a lot better, I'll do one more rehabilitation week (starting yesterday) and I'll be focusing on finishing most of my challenges & programs I've started. I'll do a plan for the future towards the end of this week.

JCU NancyTree Silent Wolf Gandhalfit SheWhoMustNotBeNamed stongecat Whirly - thank you for your support and your wishes! (: I am starting to feel better, still taking it slowly, though.
LizardFriend95 - it really makes a difference. Sometimes, if I'm feeling down, I check my thread and it's really motivating to see everything you've done gathered in one place. Sometimes SEEING is better than just knowing. (:

I had a pretty good day outside, riding the catamaran in St. Lucia. Got super sunburnt (yes, I did use sunscreen, factor 50!!) but it was worth it. (: I can totally notice the difference in my mental health being able to leave the ship at least 1/week.

Starting tomorrow, I'll dedicate 2 week to completely rehabilitate my knees. They are getting quite a lot better but sometimes I make a move and my left knee, which is the more problematic one, is still irritating me. I don't experience any big pain (I did that in the beginning and immediately started toning it down). I remembered that I had this physical exam 3 years ago and a doctor told me that one of my legs is slightly shorter than the other. When I get back home, I'll go and follow up on this. See what I can do about the situation.
As of right now, I'm basically pausing all programs and workouts that include running, squatting, lunging, anything that puts a lot of pressure on the knees. This means that 60 Days of Cardio is on pause, as it includes a lot of lunges, squats, etc. I'll continue with everything else. I've added a Cardio HIIT challenge on the list, to keep me in shape, it only includes jumping jacks, side jacks and an elbow plank, and all of these exercises are fine. I'll also be doing the Flexibility Week challenge starting tomorrow. I'll continue with the Guardian training plan, I'll just do workouts that focus more on the upper body.

So behind, but I love the idea of writing out the things you completed over the year! It seems like it would be really motivating to see it all. I might borrow it.
Belated congrats on all your accomplishments and I hope your knee feels better soon!
