Finished the 3 Day Dumbbell Only Fullbody Routine yesterday, it's been 8 weeks already.
I started with 5lbs for most exercises. I've tried to increase the weight for each exercise at least one set every workout session, but if I felt like it was too much and/ore too fast, I stuck with the same weights. The goal was being able to finish a set. Here's where I stand now (the current highest weight):
Squats: 50 lbs (25 in each hand)
Deadlift: 50 lbs (25 in each hand)
Lunge: 60 lbs (30 in each hand)
Step-up: 60 lbs (30 in each hand)
Shoulder Press: 20 lbs
Dumbbell Row: 15lbs
One-Arm Row: 15 lbs
Bench Press: 20 lbs
Crush Press: 20 lbs
Lat Raise: 10 lbs - attempted 15, couldn't finish the set.
Biceps Curl: 15 lbs - attempted 20, couldn't finish the set.
Triceps extension: 15 lbs
Flys: 15 lbs
Seated Triceps Extension: 25 lbs
Reverse Fly: 10 lbs
CaptainCanuckSheWhoMustNotBeNamed - Thank you for your wise words. I was thinking the same thing but reading about it also put it into a new perspective. And Cap, thank you for sharing the story about your wife, it calmed me down a little bit. I'm really hoping to have what you have one day.
Today, I did a 45 min treadmill cardio session + a 5 min cooldown. Ended up walking/running/sprinted a 6.6k. I'm realising more and more how big of a role training has in keeping me at least a little bit sane. (:
I am sorry to hear it did not work out with your crush. I fully agree with the comments above, it might seem like it was the person of your dreams now but from the comment you wrote it sounds like this is not really "your" person and you will for sure feel it when you meet the actual person you were meant to be with
Sorry to hear it. I have been there before, but really the fact that this person doesn't reciprocate means that they are in fact not the person of your dreams. And anyway once you find the person that reciprocates you will probably see things in a different light. I would have never some that soneone like my wife was the woman of my dreams before meeting her, but now I can't understand how I was ever interested in any other person. Just hang on there ... as life tends to mirror fitness, it is just like going on a diet that failed or getting injured while exercising, it sucks for a while but when you come out of it you will probably find that you have more resolve for the next challenges.
JCU - It was alright. There are 2 poems that I really liked, the rest was kind of ok. I'm struggling with poetry sometimes (on an emotional level), idk why.
NancyTree - Just gone from completely insane to regular crazy. (: I think it's a step in the right direction.
So, I'm still working on my Dumbbell Program, 2 more workouts and I'm done. I'm halfway done with the 5k walking program. I sort of fell off track with Modern Hero, which regularly happens to me under insane amounts of stress (and I've also managed to get my heart broken - crush update: basically I've met the person of my dreams, turns out it's not gonna happen; moving on + I've had an existential crisis - maybe I'm still having it but it's not tragic anymore) but I was still eating A LOT healthier than I would've last year. I'm getting back on my feet. Still doing a DB workout here and there, I'm mostly tackling Sucker Punch on my days off lifting. I'm also building towards a pull-up and a push-up according to the guide. (:
I'll try to post more regularly, things are slowing down... Hopefully. Also, still without a phone. (:
