Consistency and Disipline is the Key

Hey y'all! So this is where I will keep myself on the straight and narrow. I have been a lost sheep wandering aimlessly in too many directions. That has lead to nowhere good in my PT struggles and that stops here now. Lockdown has done a lot of damage to my health and I find myself craving structure and routine to put things right in my world. I have had an excellent 2021 so far with my cardio and now I am going to incorporate strength training and mindfulness into that program too.Finding the 100 HIIT workouts on Reddit and Darebee was just the tonic I needed.

My current goals are to lose 8kg in flab before summer begins. Build measurable strength as indicated by an increase in various reps to failure. Increase muscle mass as measured in my spreadsheet. Increase my VO2 Max as demonstrated in my race times. .

These are the Darebee challenges that I will focus on for the next 30 days to help me achieve these goals:

    Plant Based Challenge
    First Thing Water Challenge
    No Sugar Challenge
Get To Bed On Time Challenge

    30 Days of Running
    50 Squats A Day Challenge
    Cardio Challenge
    Cardio Blast Challenge

On top of that I will do a random workout at Level 1 from the 100 HIIT Workouts program and a yoga session led by Adrienne on youtube. It does seem like a lot when it's written out like that but I am already doing most of these things, albeit haphazardly and like the title the says, consistency and discipline is the key. Wish me luck x

Edit: I can't believe I spelt discipline wrong in the title. See what I mean about needing it? 🤣

22/02/2021 Had a depressing last week. Things need to change. I've got a job interview on Friday and I need all the endorphins, serotonin and dopamine I can get to help me smash it.

I completed Action Time, 30 minutes cardio on the ERG trainer and 45 minutes yoga

I suck at burpees, but I'm here to improve.

            Hi!
I also just joined today (although I have been doing Darebee workouts on and off for over a year),
One word of warning- It is EXTREMELY hard, if not impossible, to lose 8 kg of fat while simultaneously trying to bulk up on muscle(I tried); however, Best of Luck!!
It is better to set a goal, try for it, and almost make it, then to not give it a shot at all!

23/02/2021 Feeling a little better until the source of my anguish reappeared. Working out to help out instead of dwelling and being depressed again is the plan.

              Completed

Max Out from 100 HIIT Workouts
30 minutes cardio on the ERG trainer whilst learning Italian
8 mile run as the start of my 30 days of running challenge
Day 1 of the 30 Day Cardio Challenge
Day 1 of the 30 Day Cardio Blast Challenge
Day 1 of the 50 Squats a Day Challenge

It looks like I have too much time on my hands but I did multi task the challenges with news, study courses and media consumption that I would have watched anyway.

Did not do the planned 40 minutes yoga with Adrienne.

Thanks for kind words and welcome everyone.

24/02/2021 Feeling a little sore around my ribs from an epic workout day yesterday. I slept like a baby though.

                Completed

30 minutes cardio on the ERG trainer whilst learning Italian
6 mile run for day 2 of the 30 days of running challenge
Day 2 of the 30 Day Cardio Challenge
Day 2 of the 30 Day Cardio Blast Challenge although I cheated because it overlaps with the other Cardio challenge and I just did the 60 high knees once.
Day 2 of the 50 Squats a Day Challenge with extra credit
                40 minutes yoga with Adrienne.

Day 3 of the 50 Squats a Day Challenge with extra credit
