    Travelingshooz's Check In: The quest for second breakfast

    Day 1: NEVER MISS A MONDAY

    I did the Captain Workout today. Enjoyed the fast past and familiar movements. I love fight training, hope I'll never need it though!

            Day 3: Yesterday I was hit hard with a distraction curse. Guess my demon shield needs some work. I will never get back the time lost staring into the chattering voic but I was at least able to counter the effects with a quick lap along the moat [ 1 mile jog }

            Today we continued our defender training. I've had this reoccurring dream where I'm in a fight and I'm throwing punches as hard as I can but they never land. Hopefully it's just a dream! [ Keep Defender Lvl 3 ]

                Day 8: Training was adjourned for the sake of the noble wedding. We were to escort the Prince and his entourage to the event. There seemed to be much unease throughout the crowd, but with regional tensions at a high, I wasn't much surprised. I kept to my vow of nonindulgence, allowing for pleasures of the tongue my minor treat. Yesterday we were gratefully granted a day of rest and mediation. Today we begin the first chapter in our formal training [30 Days of HIIT program]. The training was fast and intense but it is over before I knew it. We ran a gauntlet consisting of burning coals [high knees], arrow dodging [squats], and assault run [burpees]. I thought my legs were going to give out by then end but when the Master sounded the final bell I could hardly believe we were already done.

                  Day 10: Apparently perseverance is on our training agenda. Yesterday we simply practiced being bridges [Elbow Plank] while Master recited the Laws of Duty to us [Lvl 3, 5 sets]. Today we ran a sequence I rather enjoyed. We performed motions and static poses that celebrated our range of motion. I challenged my focus to each individual muscle group and felt a sort of joy in activating the fibers. Maybe being a Guardian of the Keep won't be so hard after all.

                    Day 11: Ah, and today it seemed the Master wished us to experience suffering. We were attacked with a barrage of rice bags pelted at our heads and feet. We had to move quickly and I was quickly exhausted after only 3 rounds [Day 4 of 30 Days of HIIT; Burpees]. I was ashamed to not last as long as the others, but in meditation later we focused on gratitude for our labor and our ability to perform the labor.I am proud to have been accepted and I can sense the power growing within me.

                        Okay, I was having fun with the fantasy narrative but I'm starting a novel this week and need to cut back on the number of storylines in my head. Unless the muse strikes me, I will be posting as myself.

                        Took the weekend off to focus on other projects. Felt a little guilty that I couldn't take the time for the 15 minutes these HIIT workouts take. Got stuck hard in the scroll hole a few times. There's an interesting pattern, when my routine gets disrupted, distractions flood in. But being mindful and bringing awareness to when I'm scrolling. Back on track this week though.

                        Day 6: High Knees from 30 Days of HIIT; I enjoy these single exercise workouts. Lets me focus on the movement and really make sure my form is clean.

                          Day 7: Ab Work from 30 Days of HIIT, Lvl 5

                          Took yesterday off for birthday shenanigans. Glad to be back at it. My abs have atrophied the most since moving to desk work. I wasn't sure if I was going to make to round 3 during the first round but found my strength and made it to all 5. Feeling pretty good. I love a good ab burn.

                            Day 8: Cardio HIIT from 30 Days of HIIT, Lvl 3

                            Killin' it. Proud to push myself to do max rounds. Also almost half way to my goal of 10k words by Monday. The narrative is really starting to move in a way I didn't expect it to. I know understand what more seasoned authors talk about when they say they're just observing their characters. I know keeping my physical juices going is what's helping clear these mental blocks but the freewriting sprints are what really get me past them.

                              Fell off track. took a day off and couldn't seem to get back on. But wasn't down for too long. Knocked out Day 9 yesterday during Tea with a Druid's live video. Glad to be back at it and grateful to myself for taking the time to take care of my body.
