    Saturday night reading and self care done.

    Yesterday morning did 5 minutes breathing exercise, Better arms D15, yoga.

    286 consecutive days of exercise, Day 270 was April 29th.

    This week, 6 days out of 7 walking at least 5,000 steps or going to the gym, meditation 7 days. Reading good, evening self care good . Fish eaten three times.
    Globally, this year, goals reached were:

    Walking at least 5,000 steps at least 6 days: 15 weeks/17
    Meditation at least 6 days: 15 weeks/17
    reading at least 15 minutes: 17 weeks out of 17
    evening self care two steps at least 6: 16 weeks out of 17
    eating fish at least once a week: 17 weeks out of 17

                  Beans added back in the food without trouble ; advocadoes, artichokes, eggplants... Tuesday I bought a portion of Pa√ęlla at the market, it was soo delicious, though a tad heavy LOL. So, reintroduction of food is going well. Only Gluten left...

                  A not-random thought - I realised this week how much I had healed from my open-heart surgery, regarding push-ups.
                  With the breastbone sliced open, it was indeed problematic for several months after surgery. when I started back, I remember the discomfort in the chest, quite clearly.
                  And I realised this week that between the downward dog / chatturanga / upward dog series in the yoga class, and all the push ups in the body pump class, that not only was I not feeling any pain, but I could perform those relatively well. Thank you surgeon. Thank you Darebee for the different levels of exercise. And thank you body

                          The body is amazing. So much can go wrong, but it can also mend in a surprising way. Now if it could always mend... Guess that's part of why I love my job.

                          Sometimes I wonder if the mind heals as well. It probably could, as the human race has shown quite resilient, but ...
                          Yesterday I decided to watch an older movie, "la fille de Brest" (I think the English title is "150mg", https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/150_Milligrams). Basically, it is about a French health scandal that concerns my line of work and has impacted my work directly - a drug that was distributed for diabetic patients, but mostly "pushed" as appetite suppressant so over-largely prescribed, and ended up having deadly secundary effects. What I had kind of forgotten is that the main secundary effect was ... cardiac valvulopathies. The very first scene is a quite graphic open heart surgery ... I nearly stopped there. Continued for interest. But later in the movie there's a scene where one of the patients is unable to climb stairs, wheezing. I flashed back to November 2019, the morning of my decompensation, and having to stop in our house's stairs because I was so out of breat. I had to stop the movie.
                          I didn't expect a flash back, or for it to be so strong...

                          However the movie's really well made, and the main actress, Sidse Babett Knudsen (as the titutal "girl from Brest", the Breton pneumologist who uncovered and exposed the link between that drug and the valvulopathies, and fought hard to get that drug recalled) is amazing. There has been a few shortcuts / idealisations , but from what I saw and heard about the movie, they stayed fairly faithful to the facts. So if you are not squeamish about heart disease, it's probably worth seeing.

                          Anyhow, still exercising that body, non mais!

                          I cooked for my parents a quinoa-pineapple-cashews (and others) stir fry from an older vegan cookbook, it was very very flavorful!
