A mechanical heartbeat in the snowy forest

Hello all, and welcome to my new log! The old one was reaching toward more than 200 pages and 3000 posts, so I thought a new log was a good idea, size wise , and what better moment to open it than new year?!

For those who do not yet know me, a short presentation :
I am a French bee, been around since Fall 2016, and still loving it My present exercise is very much influenced by the fact that I had open heart surgery (mitral valve replacement by a mechanical one, hence the thread title , and rythm surgery), and still have some sequalae so you will see I regularly mention my heart rate (HR), wanting to exercise and rise it up but in a way that's safe. I am also trying to run again, that is when weather and pandemia will authorise it, LOL, if the heart allows. I like the variety of exercises here, and try to use to complete my yoga practice.

That said, back to 2021 business!
Thank you daejamurrachan , Fremen , CODawn , TheLibrarian , Whirly , Evil Elvis , AnnieW , sleep_twitch and Anek ! Happy new year to all of you too!

Today I did 2*10 one legged bridges, and at level II

311 consecutive days of working out (300 days on December 21st).

I had forgotten to add that I have started the monthly "easy cardio" challenge, to test a bit my ticker tocker. First day was good with HR around 130 but not higher

I have also changed the avatar to my darling Luna glowering from one of her improvised nesting places (poor thing, right?!), and I changed my title. I loved "mother of dragons" but that reference will start to date, so, using water magic seemed appropriate for a Breton / seaside fan person like me.

The two most consistent things on Darebee changed, your log and your avatar, well no growth without change, right?!

I didn't realize you had a mechanical valve installed. I have a bio-valve myself, so no need for blood thinners for me but it will require replacement in another 15-20 years they tell me.
I love your new avatar, and I understand the new log.

Thank you for all your remarks and encouragements,
TheLibrarian , Maemoiselle Luna says thank you,
HellYeah , I hope this change doesn't perturb you too much
                        Fremen thank you!
Anek tanks, she is sometimes my angel, sometimes my little demon, but always dear!
                        CaptainCanuck , thank you!
Evil Elvis , thanks, indeed I have to take warfarin daily. Luckily I have the equipment for self-check (like the glucometer for diabetics) so it makes stabilizing that darn thing a bit easier, LOL. Hope your valve lasts even more than they predict!
                        Thank you NancyTree and
                        Thanks Sundance
And thank you TopNotch , yeah, do call the local animal protection society on her behalf, it is clear I am underfeeding, overbrushing, and underloving her

Today I did Day 2 of the easy cardio challenge, 2*15 leg raises, 2*10 one legged bridges, and restorative yoga.

Today I did Day 3 of the easy cardio challenge, 2*15 crunches, 2*10 assisted pistol squats, and a nice yoga session around gardusasana that challanged nicely my balance, plus some handstand prep. I should add a balance to my daily exercises, methink...
