So still here, had to make some life adjustments such as a new computer, new attitude, and a new drive to do this. Its has been real bumpy since I last posted, fighting my own demons if you will, had a bit of a health scare and well yeah thats where im at right now. Its not like i have gained alot back like 8 pounds but thats nothing right, see what happens when you go on a bender and do nothing but hey who do i have to blame for that...me. so here is to another fresh start and lets make sure this time that i keep my workouts, my nutrition, and my life in order and on track.

Morning.) my vitamin stack and a pure protein shake with 1 banana and 2 tablespoons of Jif PB with about a cup or so of milik ( this should last me until lunch at around noon or one) and im on day five of Square One (again starting over)

When depression hits...it hurts. Those that don't know or understand always say it gets better and for the most part they are right to an extent but when it affects your mind as well as your body it is a bad combo. I have my ups and downs and on my ups I'm great I work hard, I eat right and leave everything I got on the floor..and I'm on top of the world, but when I'm down I'm down and I hit hard and everything is set on the back burner. For the last week now I have been dealing with family issues and for the first time since my mother passed I went into her room to handle things in there and well needless to say that was tough. Part of mine and im sure everyone else fitness journey is to balance both the physical as well as the mental and so as I said when it hits it hurts and you resort back to your old way and habits or what I call your comfort moments. Mine sadly has always been food and alcohol which is why I am where I'm at today and the reason why I started this journey to be better, so I have to learn to balance and its hard when you have no outlet to release stress and anxiety. My wife tells me all the time I need to chill but how? When your world is rocked and your in fear of your health and well...everything in between where do you find that center of peace? I know I have to try harder and there is no excuse for not doing this or that but I know my limits I guess. So is it good to work out on those high stress days when your down? Maybe but now its finding the motivation to move past the dark part and into the light. Depression is real and it hurts I just have to I guess go with the flow and be like water. This too shall pass. No truer words have been said.

Freman thanks for the link im going to try those. Its kind of embarrassing when i do crunches kind of reminds me of say...a turtle on his back or a beached whale lol. I do the knee to elbow almost every workout Elvis along with side bends and side twist. Im thinking I have some old before and now pics of what I look like perhaps if I get the courage I will post them here so people can see and perhaps someone may have some more or better advice on where I should go and what might be the best area of focus for me as far as weight loss as well as what exercise may help me tone, tighten, and drop the weight. My biggest problem is not so much sticking to the workout i got that down its my nutrition that kicks me down and starts pounding on me like an mma fighter and I know that once I can get that in check more things will fall in line but it is all a work in progress.

Evil Elvis I was referring to the whole workout which is a great way to train abs without ever going to the ground and avoiding most back problems

Do you mean "knees to elbow" like the first exercise that Fremen linked to? I also call them steam engine's. I like that exercise a lot. I find it to be a very cardio exercise, but it does work your abs.

You also might want to check out any of the exercises in the top row of this Abs Exercise chart. Strengthening any of your core muscles will help with crunches.

And, really, do the crunches you can do. They will get easier.
That is excellent advice, that I should follow.
Maybe look at the back and core program when you have some extra time?

So need a little advice. I am having trouble doing crunches. I can tighten my core and when i go to lift I can barely get my shoulders off the ground. Any advice on how to improve this or another movement I can do to help build my strength in that area? Thanks everyone

Staying with it.This was and is the mind set I need to be in, not feeling down on myself but feeling like I can and WILL do it. There will be ups and downs but its when im up that i feel my best and that's what is most important i needed to just look over at my son to remind me why i started this in the first place.Hes a good motivater and even though hes six he tries to workout with me sometimes...though the Xbox usually wins over fitness LOL
