                  Got my booster shot Friday afternoon, so I took it easy this weekend. I still had a fever and chills, but it wasn't bad as the second shot. Maybe it'll just keep getting less side effect-y the more boosters I get?

                          I've been trying out a completely dairy-free diet for almost two weeks now, and fortunately/unfortunately, I think it's been making my chronic stomach problems better. I have an appointment with a GI doctor Tuesday morning, so we'll see what he says. I wasn't sure if it was actually helping that much, but this morning I accidentally had some bread that wasn't dairy-free, and my stomach got REALLY angry. Like, you-better-find-a-bathroom-or-there-will-be-consequences angry haha.

                          It's just so difficult to find dairy-free food, outside of just cooking everything myself. Luckily at work for lunch, they're great about highlighting any allergens an entrΓ©e has, including dairy, but dining out has become a challenge. I'm having to resort to choosing vegan options most of the time, since restaurants don't always mark if something is dairy-free, but they usually mention if something is vegan.

                            Sympathies! It does suck that so many things have dairy in them. I remember being so frustrated when my sister was diagnosed with celiac and trying to find things without gluten in them!

                              I hear ya. I stopped drinking milk a few years ago and it made my life easier plus, I couldn't stand the smell of it anymore. I can eat dairy products though I try to avoide it but there's so much stuff with it. I switched to tahini based products for a few months but I over did it. Maybe you can start small with that. If, dairy is indeed the problem.

                                JCU I don't envy people who have to avoid gluten. I have a couple of friends who are gluten-free, and it looks even more difficult than dairy-free.

                                Gandhalfit that's a good idea, I'll look into that. I'm not sure I've ever had tahini before, but I've heard of it!

                                My GI appointment went well, though he basically confirmed that yes, I'm lactose intolerant, and it looks like my digestive problems are very tied to my diet. He gave me a referral for a nutritionist, so at least I'll have some help making sure I'm not missing out on any major vitamins while I'm dairy-free. We're also going to see if there is anything else less common I'm intolerant to. At least Lactaid pills exist so I can still pig out at Christmas...
