Haven't seen that board game before -- that one looks cool!

CaptainCanuck I love them too! I don't get the opportunity to play them enough.
stephenphillips42 Dead of Winter is fun, but there's a lot of setup, and the rules are finicky. If you have more than four players, it takes for-ev-er.

      What's up, Bees?

I haven't worked out in several days. I panicked because I had a lot of work to do, and spent way too much time preparing. I don't know if it'll lead to future work - I feel like I performed horribly. But you know what? Not much I can do about it but move forward.

      Deadlift plus Rows: 4 x 5
      Romanian Deadlift: 4 x 6
      Barbell underhand rows: 4 x 5
      Machine one-armed rows: 4 x 5
      Machine lat pulldowns: 4 x 5
Wide stance dumbbell rows: 4 x 6 (While bent down, hold two dumbbells far apart, and pull them straight up. Surprisingly good exercise!)

After finishing my workout, I was amazingly tired. Just walked back home, had a bite of chocolate or two, and napped.

Also took a few selfies just to see where I'm at. My goal is to be #builtlikebane - I have some mass, but not nearly enough.

No Spellbound tonight. Just too pooped. I'm going play Synthetik and watch scary short films and dream of Cyberpunk 2077.

      Take care of yourselves, Bees.

      Today I listened to...

        Hi Bees!

The gyms are very likely to close again, so I'm packing in as many workouts as I can. My elbow injury let up a bit so I went back to training my chest (direct triceps workouts are out of the question) and hitting my biceps as well. Man, it took forever...

Bench Press: 5 x 5 (worked my way up to 115, will aim for a little more on Thursday)
        Incline Press: 5 x 5
Shoulder Press w/ dumbbells: 5 x 6 (I got really sick of using the barbell, so I used my old favorites instead)

        Barbell curls: 5 x 8
        Incline dumbbell curls: 5 x 8
        Incline hammer curls: 5 x 8
        Close-grip dumbbell curls: 5 x 8

I know you're not supposed to pack in that many sets into one workout. But I figured that I only exercise 4 days a week (this may change), and I like exercising, anyway.

I saw some more charity doggos on the way back home, so I made a donation and gave them a few pets and ruffles.

I had a tooth extracted yesterday, so I'm trying to pay attention to my dental hygiene from now on... no more late night binges with M&Ms. I think it took 4 hours for the novocaine to wear off...

11 days until Cyberpunk! But a ton of work came in, so I really have to buckle down and not get distracted.

        Safe travels, Bees!

Swedish guitar heroism powered my workout:

And the week continues. No word on whether or not the gyms will shut down, but plenty of other places are. Ah well.

Today was death by back exercises... I think I did around 30 sets of exercises, just for the hell of it.

Deadlift and row: 5 x 5 (worked up to 110)
          Barbell row: 5 x 5
          Landmine Single-Armed row: 5 x 5
          Machine Lat pulldowns: 5 x 5
          Machine Low row: 5 x 5
          Dumbbell Wide stance row: 5 x 5

I look beefier than I ever have before, must be all the protein. Hopefully I can shave a bit of that off and lean out.

Also went to the market to grab some veggies.

Going to have a quiet night of revising, and playing Skyrim to relax.

          Good night, Bees!

I saw these guys in concert a few years ago and listened to this amazing song post-workout:

Oops, I forgot to update again.

I don't think it's helped that I've been sick for a few days, felt well enough to workout, and then got a cold today! Boom.

Yesterday, I packed in legs and biceps into one workout after a few days of having a stomach flu. I was going to workout today, but got laid low by a cold. Must be due to the advent of the cold weather.

            Squats: 5 x 5
            Front Squats: 5 x 5
            Leg Press: 5 x 5
            Incline Dumbbell Curls: 5 x 16
Incline Dumbbell Curls (Hammer grip): 5 x 16
            Circular Cirls: 5 x 12
            Barbell Curls: 5 x 8

Also got to play Puerto Rico with some friends, though our game was interrupted by a hegemonistic kitty.

            Cheeky little furball.

And with that, I'm going off to the great land of Slumber to recover.

            Stay warm and bundled, Bees!

I didn't go to the gym, so I listened to an old favorite instead.

Good forstill doing that workout, hope that Kitty helped you in recovery!

PetiteSheWolf Thank you! Kitty made all the difference, I think.

So I woke up feeling relatively alright and taught my lessons for the day. Made a beeline for the gym afterward, cuz today is Chest day. Still have a minor cold, but c'est la vie.

                Bench Press: 5 x 5
                Incline Press: 5 x 5
                Standing Barbell Press: 5 x 5
Floor Press: 3 x 5 (This is quite hard to setup... I only used 80kg, but I could've gone heavier.)

Still managing my new workload of tutoring with other life... stuff. I keep forgetting to do Spellbound... I usually come home too tired from working out.

If all goes well, I'll practically repeat this workout on Thursday.

Cyberpunk comes out in a few days! Yeya!

                See you round, Bees!

In my workout, I listened to...

                (This track simply awes me)

Gojira is perfect for blasting during workout

So it's now official that the gyms are closing over here, among many other facilities and establishments. I expected as much, so I'd better get as many gains in as I can. Then, I'm going to be leaning much more on Darebee's library.

Today was Back day - a favourite of mine. I promised myself I wouldn't make the workout so long, but I kind of lost track of time and ended up doing way too many sets.

                    Barbell Deadlift and Row: 4 x 5 <
Romanian Deadlift: 4 x 6 < These three exercises together work pretty well.
                    Snatch-grip Deadlift: 4 x 6 <
                    Underhand grip barbell row: 6 x 5
                    Machine Lat Pulldown: 4 x 8
Behind the Neck Lat Pulldown: 4 x 8
                    Wide stance dumbbell rows: 4 x 6
                    Face pulls (w/ rope): 4 x 10

Yeah, once again. TBF, I've gotten my best gains from experiencing DOMS, at least at a moderate level. I've had workouts where I ended up being sore for 5 days, and that was overkill. I figure that if your muscles can take the punishment, why not lay it on? I have fun doing it, anyway.

I have another two days to workout. Maybe one, considering Cyberpunk 2077 drops Thursday morning and I'm going to spend most of the day glued to my seat in immersive rapture.

Whatever you're doing throughout the week, have a good one, Bees. I'm going to get some early sleep for an early class I have to teach tomorrow.

I listened to this song today. Love the heartfelt feel of it.

So sorry the gyms are closing where you are. I'm lucky to have adjustable weights at home! Thanks for the Gojira recommendation, like very much and hadn't heard before. ROCK ON!

VacTom Yeah I fell in love with Gojira a few years back! Love their technical, environmentally-aware take on metal!
Hrapnildis I don't have any weights at home (I need a pretty heavy set, and I don't want to break my apartment floor lol), but I'll be okay. Glad that you're equipped. With Gojira, their earlier stuff is more punishing, while more recent releases are more melodic, while still retaining instrumental prowess.

The final day of gains! Until I try to remember how to do bodyweight exercises again.

                        Squats: 6 x 5
                        Front Squats: 6 x 5
                        Barbell Split Squat: 6 x 5

And... my legs are toast. I was going to work Chest tomorrow, but that's not an option. Will have to see what else is feasible!

                        Take care, everyone.

I watched this video of Tommy Lee wasting five minutes of my time. This is genuinely one of the worst drum solos I've ever seen or heard. I don't play as well as Tommy Lee, but I could still play something more inventive and fluent sitting on the can.

Hey Bees! Been nearly a week since I posted, but definitely not a week since I worked out.

Seeing that that gyms are closed, I've had to improvise. Hence, I decided to stack Spartan Trials and Fireheart together to get something daily going. Spellbound has been placed on the backburner for now.

Spartan Trials: up to > Day 4
Fireheart: up to > Day 4

In addition to doing a day of the programs today, I did 60 chin-ups and a bunch of hand-grips (?). I carry around a little rubber ring that I squeeze as I'm walking around.

The days have gotten cooler here. It's going to be a quiet Christmas, looks like. I'm busy gaming away with Cyberpunk, which is disappointing in its current state, but still fun to play.

                          Take care of yourselves.

Because I discovered this song from CP 2077, I'm playing it a lot in my spare time.

Hey gang! Hope you had yourselves a good holiday.

Been awhile. I'm still reeling from the absence of the gym, but I'm looking for various ideas and replacements. My performance as of late has admittedly been quite spotty.

Spartan Trials: up to > Day 7
Fireheart: up to > Day 7

I tried something different today. I loaded up my backpack with a bunch of heavy books (about 14 kg worth) and went for a long walk (about 6 km); my goal is to eventually work my way upwards. I tells ya, beats running. Could feel the straps digging into my body the whole way through!

Now I have a makeshift kettle/dumbbell, though the real deal would be much needed right now!

                            Also took a scenic snap.

Click image for larger version Name:	rsz_1scenic.jpg Views:	0 Size:	893.4 KB ID:	753765

I'm going to work on my "rucking" (ie walking/hiking with a backpack) and fashion some home workouts to accompany it. I'll also have to get back into Spartan Trials and Fireheart.

                            Take care of yourselves!

I listened to this while I was out and about.

                              That's a nice idea!

Have fun hiking with your heavy backpack ! Merry Christmas SpartanBee !
