    Spectre Training 2.0

It's been more than a year since I was here last. I don't know that I'll find exercising any easier this time around, but trying has to be better than sitting on the couch and staring blankly into the screaming void. And, frankly, quarantine is getting to me and I could use some people to talk to. So hello, everything where I live is awful and I'm not great company right now, but I'm doing my best.

I am starting very, very, excruciatingly slowly. I just finished Vitality on Level One. Tomorrow I'll start Baseline on Level Two.

Another Mass Effect themed check in thread, that's funny

Welcome back! Don't worry, when I started out way way back I couldn't even do the first day of Foundation

Thank you, Nihopaloa, Scohui, Lady_Nicholson, and Fremen for the kind welcome.

Baseline Day 1: Level 2 success. My shoulders are tired.

Baseline Day 2: Level 2. I'm pretty sure the real Commander Shepard's knees didn't start complaining after 10 reps of... *checks notes* ...standing up.

Of course, he's also animated and his life kind of sucks, so fair trade.

Hey you never know what sort of shape Shepard was in in the beginning.

Plus army/marine training and the N1-N7 programs took a lot of time. Also after me1, the fact that they're something like half cyborg...

Give it time, you'll get there.

Of course, he's also animated and his life kind of sucks, so fair trade.
                  Also there's that.

Shepard takes -50% Damage to health from melee attacks. By reinforcing the skeleton with a synthetic weave, bones can be made almost unbreakable. In the event of bone trauma, medi-gel conduits allow for bone regeneration in a matter of days.
I mean, if only we all had that! (okay I'll stop nerding out about Shepard now lol)

Good point, Lady_Nicholson, I'm going to take a moment to be thankful that none of my bad decisions give me glowing orange scars on my face.

No Baseline work today because Sunday is "drag my partner on a walk through the park" day followed by an hour and a half ballet class (over Zoom). I have absolutely no talent for ballet, but I'm better now than I was when I started a year ago, so I keep going. Zoom class is a special hell, because I have extra trouble telling right from left (and which one's in front) when the teacher is a flat image on the computer.

Baseline Day 3: Level 2. Not gonna lie, I forgot about this until right before bed and if had been any more difficult than it was I would have skipped it. Today was a long, discouraging day. I teach at an American university that is starting in-person classes on Wednesday. It is going to be a disaster.

Thank you, Hiraelle, I'm going to need it.

Baseline Day 4: Level 2. I'm more tired than I thought I'd be. Tomorrow's the start of classes.

First day of school kicked my butt, so I skipped a day. Back on it this afternoon.

Baseline Day 5: Level 2. Similar exercises to Day 2, but felt a little easier. Second day of school was easier, since I was remote. And now I don't teach again until Tuesday. I still have a mountain of prep work, but at least I can do that in my N7 leggings and without washing my hands every 5 minutes.
