When you are young something else seems more and more important, it is not a fault, it is that you never see things in perspective.
With a few more years I can tell you that
people are missing and not opportunities.
You are not selfish, you are only human

From the sounds of it you were in your late teens or early twenties at that point? I think it's pretty normal at that age to not fully understand the value of the memories of older family members and normal to not remember the details years later. It's wonderful that you participated in transcribing her memories, even if impatiently, and that you can read them again now. A selfish person wouldn't have done it at all.

        Thanks Fremen Zastria
I was just very tired last night when I wrote it. I wanted to take that post off this morning but it got too many views anyway.

I think we have all been in similar places. I am finding, NOW, that my father died and a few reached out, that I have a ton of great uncles and cousins etc that we were completely untethered from bc for some reason my grandmother either shunned or was shunned by her siblings.

I can relate - that's the other side of my family. It's great that you are getting to know each other now though

I had an awesome/hillarious moment when 1 uncle sent me a grave stone which showed some great great aunt who lived well past 90 and realized I need to stop robbing my retirement fund for "emergencies" since I've got female relatives on both sides who made their 90s LOL.

What a day. I woke up at 2am and couldn't go back to sleep, decided to just give up at 4am and start the day, got to the office where some new furniture for some new people arrived so I helped a bit with moving things around, left early, had a late lunch, fell asleep for three more hours.
I started playing with Chelsea and realized that the dust balls might get to tumble weeds magnitudes so I started to clean up. Did Power grip challenge day 2, Dead hang challenge day 2, 50 front kicks for Rainbow Dragon 's Birthday, 10 close grip pike push ups and 10 triceps dips.
A moderately active day I think.

                        Thank you, Gandhalfit!

It sounds like you got a lot done, in spite of the wonky sleeping/not sleeping.
I hope you will be able to sleep well tonight.

I finally did sleep Rainbow Dragon 8 hours and all. It was great, I should do it more often

Eight hours of sleep is the best!

It's finally raining and bellow 20 degrees (though not that much bellow). I'm working from home today so I just had to share this as I'm sitting at my desk with a warm coffee (tardis mug ) Chelsea is asleep on the bed behind me and there's a wonderful soundtrack of drops and thunder playing in the background.
I'll stop working at around 17:00 and then I don't have to waste time on public transport
