יום בסטיליה מוצלח
Congrats to France on this day.
I did see the Bastille up close but it was April and it was boarded off for renovations (and gray and rainy - which I freaking love).
I don't follow Football but apparently fans had a hard time choosing their finals favorite - England - where Football was born and Italy who had a seriously hard time with covid-19. Anyway, I personally don't really care about the outcome but hope everyone had a good time watching the Euro and hope that the better team won. I would also like to apologize for being part of the nation that invented penalty shootout over the coin-flip () and just hope you all had a good time enjoying tactical moves on green lawns
The previous week was great but this week has been one failure after the other.
I hope I can get it together during the weekend
you know...

Would you like me to give you a formula for success? It’s quite simple, really: Double your rate of failure. You are thinking of failure as the enemy of success. But it isn’t at all. You can be discouraged by failure or you can learn from it, so go ahead and make mistakes. Make all you can. Because remember that’s where you will find success. Thomas J. Watson
I'm guessing you meant this one Mamatigerj Thank you.

And I love Edith PiafThough the best Marseillaise ever , for me, is the one in "Casablanca". If it doesn't bring tears...

I probably meant that PetiteSheWolf
And what was unapproachable was July Column... I was pretty out of it last night. Too much work, not enough sleep.

I did not know that the penalty shoot-out was invented by an Israeli - have now looked up the story! I find it hard because it almost always makes an individual a villain in a team game, but I can't think of a better way to end a tied game and they are very exciting to watch.
I hope you have a great day!
Casablanca Marseillaise is also my favourite - and I do always cry.

Never heard of Casablanca Marseillaise PetiteSheWolf Colin. I'll look it up.
I guess it's better than flipping a coin to decide who wins but I know a lot of people don't like it.

The whole movie is great, really, a classical one. And with many quotable lines! Ah, Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman... Definitly worth watching, Gandhalfit !

yeah, I haven't got to Casablanca yet. I do love film noir and generally speaking "old movies" - 40's to 60's

Okay, So I haven't watched or got updated on any news in the last 5 days. I hope everyone here (in the very least) is okay and hasn't been effected by the floods in anyway.
