    Depression: Saving Myself from Myself

Starting this log to stay in focus and motivated to keep on my road to recovery.
Quarentine has helped me understand how truly deep I've dug myself into and I'm not going to keep ignoring my mental illness hoping it goes away magically, I'm ready to learn and I don't want to stop.

    Today:
First day of 30 Days of Cardio Blast
    +80 chest compressions.
    +80 chest expansions.

    Goals:
° To keep myself active and away from my bed.
° To be able to dance away with no worries with my friends.
° To be able to lift my dog (around 35 kg).

A little bit of my past below:

When I was a teenager I got diagnosed with knee bursitis, the pain was so overwhelming I had to leave my job; however despite the rest and medication the pain, while subdued, never left.
I couldn't go on long walks, hiking, running, or jumping without some sort of discomfort, I even developed a slight limp. I have never been an athletic person by no means but this really impacted my life psychologically and physically.
After a year I took into consideration that the pain might have been psychosomatic, but I couldn't pinpoint any triggers.

When I turned 18, during a theater class, my teacher, who knew about my knee situation, noticed that I standed way too rigid and that perhaps bending my knees forward a little bit could help with my posture.
She was right, bending them helped alleviate the pain even if it was a very weird way to stand from my point of view.
I realized that perhaps my bursitis had simply come to be because I never learnt how to stand correctly; Despite how simple the solution was I still find I have to catch myself from constantly bending my knees backwards, ironically the pain helps as a reminder to bend forward.
I'm 20 now, I don't really know if this pain is psychosomatic or not, but my life really has improved a lot since I started doing little exercises and walks to streghten my leg muscles, the pain is there rarely now and its bearable so I no longer deprive myself from going out with friends to museums, on walks, or whatever.

Before the quarentine I even started a running program, the couch to 5k by NHS, couldn't finish it, but I've known of this darebee for years and finally decided to write down here my journey, this year I finally completed two programs I've abandoned before: foundation and 30 days of cardio blast.
Im currently re-doing the latter program, just on the second level, I'm very excited for my progress and can't wait to see how far I can go!

Thank you all for the kind words!
I got a stomach bug and so didn't update my log :-(

          June 25th:
          Didn't do anything.

          June 26th:
Day 2 of 30 days of Cardio Blast.
          +80 chest compressions.
          +80 chest expansions.

          Yesterday:
Day 4 of 30 days of Cardio Blast.

          Today:
Day 3 of 30 days of Cardio Blast.
Day 5 of 30 days of Cardio Blast.
          +100 chest compressions.
          +100 chest expansions.

Whenever I miss a day I always do 2 days to catch up, usually I make sure to pair a "sets" day with a "reps throuhout the day" day so I don't cram it all up in one session...
That was my plan for yesterday but I felt really under the weather; I must admit though, todays session wasn't as overwhelming as I thought it'd be.
I'm going to look into other logs to check how other people can stay motivated through it all, it's pretty inspiring seeing how people achieve their goals.

My arms feel like jelly from yesterday...
TMI: I had a croissant with chocolate today but it had a moldy spot, I didn't eat that part but I hope I don't get sick.

            Today:
Day 6 of 30 Days of Cardio Blast.
            +80 chest compressions.
            +80 chest expansions.

Push ups are coming up soon so I'm going to have to work on those...otherwise I won't be able to complete them.

Wowee my body was real sore from yesterday, I almost skipped the day.
I'm also starting to notice that I'm not eating as much veggies as I used to. Going to start making some snacks with them in advance.

              Today:
              Classic Warmup.
Day 7 of 30 Days of Cardio Blast.
              +80 chest compressions.
              +80 chest expansions.
              +15 table push ups.

Decided to start a more guided warmup.
Those table push ups were pretty hard, I'm surprised to contemplate the fact that I might have more strenght in my lower body than upper.
Thinking of starting the Wall Push-ups Challenge or the Knee Push-ups Challenge alongside CB. Afraid I might be stacking too much into myself, but I won't know until I try it.

Didn't feel very good today; My essential tremor was acting hard, probably because of a lack of sleep.
Feel like I wasted the day away, but at least I did today's exercises.

                Today:
Day 8 of 30 Days of Cardio Blast.
Day 1 of Wall Push ups Challenge.
                +40 chest compressions.
                +40 chest expansions.

Did the 200 half jacks in sets of 50 and the 15 push ups in between.
I'm real bad at doing reps throughout the day, I gotta keep in mind to prepare a better schedule for them next time.

My sleep schedule is out of control, so I've been pretty dazed.
I have a lot of pending things to do and I think the stress might be getting to me.

Day 2 of Wall Push ups Challenge.

                  +80 chest compressions.
                  +80 chest expansions.

Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to catch up with CB.

Still have a lot of things to do, but I managed to do the exercises.

                    Today:

Day 13 of 30 Days of Cardio Blast.
Day 5 of Wall Push ups Challenge.
Day 6 of Wall Push ups Challenge.
                      +60 chest compressions.
                      +60 chest expansions.

Didn't keep up with my last post, a little bit dissapointed in myself. I have to be pull myself together.
Day 13 was brutal; I don't think I've broken in such a heavy sweat before.
Tomorrow I'll do day 11. Don't think I'll be able to catch up with CB any time soon.

Didn't keep up with last post again, but I did do push ups.
I could've done a double workout today had I not started so late. Need to be more strict with my schedule.

Couldn't sleep yesterday and ended up sleeping in the afternoon.

                          Today:
                          Classic Warmup.
Day 11 of Wall Push ups Challenge.
Day 14 of 30 Days of Cardio Blast.
                          +40 chest compressions.
                          +40 chest expansions.

Plunges are the bane of my existance. Did CB day on easy level, my legs could'nt keep up.
Tomorrow for sure doing two days: will do some squats to make up for today.
