    Dad uses pen and ink to sketch before using the watercolors. He went into more, but art techniques just don't make sense to me, sorry!

      JCU Honestly, they don’t make much sense to me, either. I know one of the artists I watch on YouTube uses a light blue colored pencil to sketch, but I think she works in acrylics. I’d imagine that would interfere with the watercolor, though.

          I'm not sure how watercolor brush pens work, but there are also watercolor pencils, with which sketching might work?

            NancyTree I’m still looking at tutorials for brush pens. I’ve seen two different ways so far. It will be a little while before I work with them, so I have time. I have heard of watercolor pencils. It might be something I look into later.

              Got a few things for my crafts, but I forgot some even though they were on the list. So next trip. I still have to finish painting some rocks for my sister before I do anything else.

              I swatched out my colored pencils so I don’t have to test the actual color of it every time I go to use it. But they gave me two purple mountains majesty pencils and I didn’t get a plain violet. Oh, well. At least it’s in the same color family .

                Talked to an artist friend who said pencil was fine for watercolor, though she doesn’t like the medium. I also saw a video where they did use colored pencil, so I guess no matter what I chose to sketch with I should be fine.

                Aunt had the bright idea of giving Rolo back a ball that he hasn’t asked for and was absolutely fine without because he was playing with other toys. The reason why this was such a bright idea? Rolo’s game is to put the ball underneath or behind furniture. Not fun for anybody involved.

                  Well, I’m starting to feel some of the fog lift! Finally! But I’m still getting that sickness crap that’s been going on for almost a year. I get hot and feel nauseous. It does last very long, but it doesn’t feel good when it hits. And usually I have to deal with it for a few days before it goes away completely.

                      DorothyMH No, but last year we had a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it ice storm and we were out of power for 11 days. I was thinking that maybe it shocked our immune systems or something because by the time our power came back on we were all sick. My aunt went to the hospital an was diagnosed with COVID and she was sent back home because it wasn’t that bad. She told us we needed to get tested, but our symptoms weren’t that bad either (it felt like I had a mild case of the flu). We weren’t going anywhere so we didn’t really see the need to get tested. But my mom and I both have had similar symptoms since. The only difference is she gets really cold and I usually get really hot. I haven’t gotten sick sick because of it but it’s enough to kind of throw off your day.

                        Finally finished a book! It feels good. I think I’m going to rotate some different children’s book series. American Girl is up now. I used to love looking at the catalogues when I was a kid. Never got any of the dolls but I did end up with one or two books (the Samantha Parkington ones). But as a kid? I wasn’t really into any kind of historical fiction. Not saying that these are the best historical fiction, but still.

                        Got it an email from Wikitree saying I could find out which ghosts I was closely related/connected to. I have to take these things with a grain of salt, but I still found it humorous.
