    Good news! Mom is now in a boot and is able to start walking on her foot! Of course she has to go easy with it, but still! This was fast. Much faster than when my dad broke his ankle a few months back.

    The day kind of got away from me. I did manage to do my sentence in French but I didn’t get to the other languages yet. I did work on some translation, though.

    I read The Stupids in honor of banned books week.

                So Dad thinks that Mom should be up and walking and doing everything that she used to do. She’s taking it easy like the doctor said to. She can take the boot off at any time but if she’s going to be walking, she’s got to put the boot on. When she’s getting ready for bed at night she puts the boot on and my dad comes in and “helps” her. He gets the boot as tight as he can, which is pretty freaking tight. He’s not gentle. The thing is, when his ankle was broken, it was farther along in the healing process when he was able to wear a boot. My mom would help him with it and he would say it hurt. My mom is a lot gentler than he is! Her break is still new! Dads...

                My attention span needs so much work! Didn’t get to my NVA Challenge. I forgot how hard it is it to form sentences with these words. At least it’s an exercise in creativity as well. Too bad that’s been lacking, too .

                Going through the list of frequently challenged books, I stumbled across Walter the Farting Dog. I had to. The illustrations were almost nightmare inducing, though.

                  Dead languages are difficult to learn mostly because... well, they're dead. But they can be revived. The Galician language is one. It was pretty much dead for 300 years, with only Spanish and Portuguese being spoken in that region. It wasn't until the 1800s, when the Rexurdimento came, that the language started to be spoken again. Nowdays, people in Galicia speak both Spanish and Galician, and the Galician language is considered to be the most important heritage of the area.

                  It is pretty ethical to learn and revive languages. Besides, you may stumble upon situations like this.

I started translating the first sentence into the other languages and I realized just how uncomfortable I am with them. I know it will get better the more I work on it, but I think I’ve got to figure out a new game plan.

                              September was hectic! I didn’t accomplish any of what I wanted to this month, but that’s okay. Gotta let the leaves fall where they may ...

                              October Intentions
                              I’m not going into this month with a set plan. It’s still going to be a little hectic and I don’t want to get too ahead of myself. I’ve got to ease myself back into exercise. I think I’ll restart the Daily Squats Challenge and do some yoga/stretching. I’m a little scared to do anything too intense just yet. So baby steps this month!
