Matan I’ll have her look at it! Thanks!

No apologies needed! I only got into Pinterest after using Darebee, but that's not really social media. If I have any desire for Facebook (a few shops), Mom lets me use her account. And Instagram is Liam. So I totally get it!

Great job on cutting toxic people out of your life!

I should have known something was wrong because when I was on my balance board I started sweating. This never happens but I thought it was because I was doing laundry and taking the dogs outside. I started to get a headache later, took my breakthrough meds, had a little snack, and rested up before trying to exercise. Sun salutations were fine. But those Charlestons? So. Hard. I didn’t do them exactly how she did. I still got some nice balance and strength training out of it. I substituted the 1-minute wall sit for 50 squats and I had to cut the up up down downs from 20 to 10. Those are not my friend. The whole thing was pretty difficult so I just did the one round. I felt off for a while afterward. I ate dinner and felt better, but I started to feel bad again in the evening. I’ll probably take it easy tomorrow.

JCU My mom has no interest in getting a Facebook for herself, so she uses my dad’s to see what family is up to. Pinterest I was hesitant in getting only because of how much time I’d likely waste on it (a lot, but I got better at it). Lots of interesting stuff to explore on it!

As for cutting toxic people out, I really only did that once with one of my aunts a while back. She’s pretty much the same in real life as on Facebook. This was more an exasperated “forget all of you” than a conscious decision to cut people out, if that makes any sense. I just went on a little rampage. The cousin behind the post that spurred that is really a sweet person. It’s fine when we’re actually together. There’s no toxicity there. Our views are complete opposites on certain (maybe even most) topics, which is fine, but I try to avoid those posts as much as possible. But she shared something that I have no patience for whatsoever and I just on impulse unfriended a lot of people before deciding to deactivate.

Mom had her surgery yesterday. She came home around 4 and pretty much slept the rest of the day, but she is doing well.

I made jalapeño popper chicken enchiladas for dinner last night. I’m not a cook, but I have made these before. Except I forgot what all I need to do when making enchiladas. Then the oven didn’t want to heat up at first. So minor frustrations that left me feeling a little down (evenings have been a little rough for me). But when my family tries to reassure me that everything is fine, it makes me feel worse. Why am I like this?

Made an instagram yesterday. I’m not sure if I can say it’s just focused on one thing. Maybe self improvement? The only actual people I’m following are the ones that I get my workouts from (Blogilates, Tone it Up, Love Sweat Fitness, and FitOn). Other than that I’ve got writing prompts (short stories and poetry), language, and meditation/self care. Basically, if it doesn’t inspire me to create, motivate me to work out and meditate, or teach me something, I don’t want it.

No exercise yesterday. Still didn’t feel 100% that morning, though I did get better later on. I just didn’t want to push anything. Hamstrings are sore as well. I’m definitely going to have to make foam rolling a part of my routine.

I get the same way, honestly. If something isn't going right in a recipe and my family tries to consol me, it just makes me want to throw things out and walk away. Something to do with depression and/or anxiety? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Random thought! Do you have your Instagram account set to private? If you plan on posting anything at all, promoters can find you. If you don't want to deal with that, it can get a bit tedious, private is the way to go!

                Comment

JCU Thank you! It is definitely an anxiety/depression thing. I notice the same thing happening when I look for inspiring quotes. Sometimes it just... hurts. But I still try to find them, because apparently I’m a masochist.

I completely forgot about making it private! That’s usually the first thing I do. Really, the only thing I might post is stuff in other languages (a terrifying thought!) to aid in my language learning.

When you argue with someone who, in your opinion, is wrong, chances are they won't calmly listen to you and change their view. They are more likely to argue more aggressively and cling tighter and tighter to their belief. So when your family was arguing with you by saying things were okay, you were arguing back that no, things weren't, and saying/thinking that again made you feel even worse. So how can you change that? Ah, that's a difficult thing! What I do when things go wrong is accept that things went pear-shaped (generally have to take a bit of time to calm down from intense frustration, first, though), then look if there was something I could learn from the experience to be able to do it better next time. Sometimes I am lucky enough to find something funny about whatever happened to get a bit of a laugh. This all takes time, of course, and a lot of practice! Well, them's just my thoughts.
