      My iPad went berserk Saturday night. When I was going through family tree stuff with my dad, the battery got low and died on me. I plugged it in and it ended up dying yet again. This time, it got caught in a loop where the logo would show up, it would show the home screen for a split second, then die again. Lather, rinse, repeat. Finally managed to catch the home screen in time to turn it off yesterday. I let it charge and now it’s all better! Does anyone else get anxiety when technology messes up?

      The thing I said about things going in one ear and out the other with my dad? Yesterday, he was talking to our cousins and asked how another one of our cousins fit in. He then proceeded to tell me how she did, even though I had showed him and explained it the day before. Father...

      And my cousin still believes that we are related to the woman from the Facebook group. She messaged me yesterday saying that she didn’t understand why we weren’t showing up as matches for the woman. I told her I didn’t think she was related to the woman from her father’s side (our shared one) and how our other cousin must have been related to the woman through a side that is not our blood. Then she told me again that our other cousin was from our shared side. She also mused that her grandkids also showed up as a match... . She is an older woman, so I get it. I’ve encountered people from one side of my family that shows up as a match for someone on the other side. I took a couple screenshots of my matches, one from my mom’s side and one from my dad’s, that show one connection to the opposite side of my family. Hopefully those will help me explain it to her better? I’ll still try to help figure out how the woman fits in to my cousin’s family.

            Sent my cousin the screenshots and used those as examples for how a relative can be match for someone on the opposite side of your family tree. One of the screenshots showed a cousin on our shared side, with her name clearly listed, and she swore he wasn’t a match to him before coming back and saying that she was. She also told me she found it hard to swallow that someone could be related a different way. There’s always another side of the family tree, cousin, and a million branches there. I’m still trying to figure out how she thought her grandkids wouldn’t match with the woman, though...

              It is interesting. I saw a video not long ago from a mathematician that we only have to go back about 1500 years until all of humanity can find a common ancestor.

                  I’ve been sorting through my Habitica tasks and habits trying to streamline things a bit. I still have some work to do, but I’ll be making the adjustments I’ve already decided on and using the orb of rebirth.

                    August Reflections
                    I’m a little disappointed with this month, though I did make progress in some things. Being sick really didn’t help matters. It’s so hard to get back into a routine! On to the next month...

                    September Intentions
                    I’m going for a total body approach this month. I found a program for push ups that I’m going to try out. It has plenty of rest days built in, so my arms should be happy. I’ll start it Monday. I’ll be doing it Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. It’s going to carry over into October a little bit, but that’s fine. I have some time to decide on what adjustments I’m going to make before I start it. I’ve also got to work on my bedtime routine.
