      DorothyMH I’m not sure. She has bad knees and I’m not sure about what modifications to do for certain poses. I know we used to see a lot of commercials for PiYo and she said that was something we probably needed to look into.

      I think my biggest problem is space. During the pandemic, my usual workout space (the living room) was kind of off limits. That pretty much left just my room (I know it’s poor sleep hygiene) and the space there is limited. The living room is pretty usable now, but I guess it’s just getting myself back into that mindset.

          I woke up a little later than I intended, and since it was going to be a relatively busy morning, we skipped bike riding. I had to mow the backyard. It was hot and took me forever to cool down afterwards. It didn’t help that I was frustrated during part of it pretty much power walked while doing it. I was completely wiped out the rest of the day and couldn’t bring myself to do the vibration machine. I did manage my challenges though, after debating on it for a while.

          I earned a free 3-day preview of Duolingo Plus and actually remembered to do the mastery quizzes yesterday. I never learned some of the words they give you, so that was fun. It says I mastered 19% out of 23% of the course in French*, 15% out of 15% of the course in Swedish, and 13% out of 20% of the course in Latin.

          *The page after the quiz said 14% out of 28% of the course mastered, but under the history, it said 19% out of 23%. So I don’t know.

            The one and only time I mowed the lawn, I ran through it not knowing to pace myself. I definitely took a while to cool off and that was several months ago! If your mower is anything like mine, it may be different to your machine, but I'd say you got the vibrations in!

              JCU I’m usually pretty good at pacing myself and can cool down relatively quickly after sitting down and drinking either a bai, body armor, or vitamin water. But being frustrated like that? It just about killed me . My mower doesn’t vibrate a lot. It also doesn’t do well if the grass gets too high, so thankfully that wasn’t the case this time.

                I did not intend to start my day yelling at a spider to die while I sprayed the crap out of it, but that’s what happened. Not a grest way to start the morning for someone with a phobia.

                Made it through a few more episodes of SVU. I don’t know how anyone can watch this show and not get mad. Still, seeing John Ritter (one of my faves!) was a bonus, even though I didn’t like his character. (Fun fact: My pug’s middle name is Tripper because he accidentally tripped my brother once and I love Three’s Company.)

                I really liked the meditation. I was instructed to “inhale the blue of the ocean, exhale the white of the waves.” I love that visual! But I could not turn my brain off, even when I tried to use the visual to fall asleep.

                  I started to do the daily freebie from Tone It Up, but when I started to get in position for the next move, I hurt my wrist somehow. I put my brace on, cancelled that workout and decided to move on to yoga knowing that I was going to have to modify. Thankfully, I didn’t have to skip a whole lot. I carefully tested things. Knee planks were not happening, but downward dog was fine. My wrist stopped hurt after about 1-2 hours.

                  I started out with one bellydance video, did a little, then decided I’d better go back to the tutorials for now. It didn’t feel like cardio, but according to my watch my heart rate was in the aerobic zone.

                  Samsung Health is my main tracker, but I do use others. I hardly ever log my workouts in Google Fit, but if I want to really track my heart points, I have to. The problem was trying to figure out how many heart points to log for a workout. But I think I read on the app somewhere that it was 1 point for every minute of activity that gets your heart pumping. Since my watch tracks my heart rate and shows the heart rate zones I’m in and for how long, it makes it easier to do! Now, the problem is Google Fit automatically tracks any activity I do for an extended period of time as bike riding. It’s done this before and I had to keep changing the exercise logged to walking. Eventually, it learned. Hopefully it doesn’t take long for it to learn the difference. Until then, my heart points are going to be really out of whack. I know these things aren’t 100% accurate regardless, but seeing the numbers helps me kind of understand where I’m at.

                    If I'm not careful, my watch (Samsung) defaults my activity to running. The one thing I don't do! And let's not get into the steps it counts when I'm in the car...

                      JCU Which Samsung watch do you have? I’ve never had mine automatically track a workout, even though it’s supposed to, and I don’t think it’s ever tracked steps in a car. My phone used to, but not anymore. I couldn’t wear my Fitbit or my phone while on the vibration machine because it would count a butt load of steps. But my Galaxy Fit2 doesn’t count it at all. It will count steps if I do an arm workout, though.

                        Galaxy Watch! It's not when it automatically tracks (that's just registered as a workout and I have to have an elevated heart rate for a few minutes before that kicks in), but when I'm choosing which workout I'm doing manually. If I'm not checking carefully, running is at the top of the list and it automatically chooses it. And I can't remove it from the list if exercises!

                        It's pretty okay with counting steps normally, but yeah, arm workouts confuse it. Especially punching!

                          JCU Gotcha. I’ve had a few instances where I accidentally touched one instead of the other, but I’ve caught it quickly enough I could change it. Except yesterday, when I was scrolling through to pick yoga I accidentally picked swimming and the water lock came on. I had so much trouble turning it off. Mine has an edit button at the bottom of my list. I took advantage of it and took swimming off of it completely.

                            I do love that we're at the point we can complain about things like this. Watches! That record our movement! And heat rate! And exercises! On our wrists!!

                                The first Leilah Isaac that I tried was on the popsugar fitness channel a couple of yeara ago. It was relatively easy to follow. I find that the stuff on her channel is usually for intermediates at worst. I dont do it much, only sometimes if I am looking for a different mobility workout, so I am no expert but you might want to have a look.
