    I had full intentions of following the Blogilates calendar yesterday. But my legs were so sore, and I couldn’t imagine doing more squats than what’s on the Squat Challenge. Maybe it’s best for me to build a habit of movement other than just walking before I start following the calendar again. Especially since I’ve lost whatever strength I gained.

    I unofficially participated in NaNoWriMo in 2019. I wrote a lot but got writers block. I’d been in a creative rut since then. I was doing pretty well this year. I focused more on writing whatever (short stories and poems) than my actual projects (though I’ve had ideas that might turn into a project later) for the time being so I could exercise my creative muscle. I didn’t write every day, but I did write more days than not. But I hit a writing and reading rut last month, which is why I’m deciding to log those here, too. I’m currently taking a poetry course on Coursera and I’ve picked out other courses on there and on other sites to take when I’m done. I’ve had to reset my deadlines on it once and I’ll have to do it again. I can’t work that fast ! It’s going to take me a lot longer anyway because I’m pretty sure I’m going to get Ancestry DNA so working on my family tree will take up more time than usual...

      Well my morning started off great. Took a sip of my morning milk and it was horrible. It was within date and it didn’t taste like sour milk usually does. It tasted dirty. My sweet cat Gator was trying to cuddle with me and when I stood up to go dump it, he nudged my hand and got milk all over him.

      My mood has been off the last couple of days. Had some coffee and rewatched some Bates Motel to try to feel better.

      I don’t know why I’m still bothering with the Psycho series other than morbid curiosity and the fact that I’m this far into it. I’m reading the version that has all three books in one. I started it on January 1 and it’s May... (Nevermind the fact that I’ve got several other books in my Currently Reading shelf on Goodreads).

        I think I’m ready to start adding in other exercises. I’m trying to take things slow this time .

        I forgot to log my XP for Duolingo, but I know that I did reach my goal.

        Oh, John, how I love you. Anyone who knows me know that I am a huge Beatles fan. My brother bought me this book a while back and I was reading another physical book at the time, so I waited. I did end up looking through the pictures. And this might be a stupid complaint, because this is about his last days so I know they’d have to talk about it. But I could have done without the pictures of his murderer. I don’t think we should have to see them any more than we have to. Not that I’m against reading true crime or anything. I just don’t see the point in making killers more recognizable than their victims (that’s in general. Obviously John is more recognizable).

                      I've been meaning to ask, if you don't mind of course, with all the reading and exercising and language learning spread out throughout the day, how effective or enjoyable is it?

                        Gandhalfit Well, reading is always enjoyable (except for having to see certain pictures in the John Lennon book). The language learning is enjoyable because I’ve learned how much I love languages and seeing similarities between them. As to being effective, I need to do a lot more than I’m doing in French, my target language, because even though I can understand words, I struggle with reading sentences and putting them together. And my listening skills aren’t great either . I keep meaning to watch videos, listen to podcasts, and read more, but I never do. Right now, I wouldn’t say my exercising is effective because I need to do a lot more in that department, too. I’m just trying to ease back into it.
