Got some 3 pound weights yesterday to use on the Vivaspa. The 5 pound weights we have are just a little too heavy for that.

I’ve also finally started doing diamond paintings. I finished a small cactus for my dad, and I’m working on an elephant one that I should finish today. My only problem is I haven’t found a way to sit comfortably and not hunch over while I’m doing it. My back hurts right now, but I can’t wait to finish the painting.

LizardFriend95 how are you finding the vivaspa? Noticing it doing its work? I had a type of one previously but only used it sporadically (when I wasn't really working out), but was wondering if it was worth getting another one

sleep_twitch It’s from GoogleFit. You earn them by doing activities at a higher intensity, which for me on this app is solely walking.

Mrsteapot80 So far I’m liking it. I don’t really have any persistent aches and pains, but my mom has hip trouble and walking for long periods of time tend to make her legs and back hurt. She’s seeing improvements in that already, so I think it might be worth it if you have mobility issues. I did take measurements at the start of this week (stupidly didn’t do it when I first started using it), so it’s going to take me a little bit to see if it is helping me lose inches at least.
I’m still trying to figure out exercises to target specific areas, but as a migraine sufferer, I have to be careful about performing exercises that bring my head closer to the machine. I can still do them, just not for an extended period of time and maybe like one or two sets, otherwise I do get a bit of a headache. It’s nothing too serious and it tends to go away pretty quickly. This has only happened twice, and I don’t recall having that issue when I experimented with practicing a yoga flow on it, even though I did have my head lowered at times. I’m on maintenance meds so it might be different for other migraine sufferers if they aren’t on any. And of course, any other brain related issue.

I have read that the Vivispa is great for pushups. I might look into it.

LizardFriend95 Diamond paintings are very meditative. My girls and I (sometimes the Little Lad, too) will often sit at the table and do them and chat and drink tea and just chill. As long as you can be comfortable at the same time, that pick-up-put-down movement (and the sticky little 'pop' noises) can be very soothing. Count it as Meditation!

TopNotch I love them! Really any type of crafting is meditative if you can’t get into a rhythm. Maybe I really should start formally counting it as meditation. It doesn’t always have to be “traditional.”

On a side note, when I was working on my painting last, I ended up dropping two little diamonds (at different times), and they perfectly landed on the canvas right where it was supposed to go.

Yesterday was kind of hectic. We spent the morning going through boxes. We’ve been here four years and still aren’t fully unpacked yet. It was kind of stressful, and I was pretty dead the rest of the day. My mind was also wandering big time. I could not focus on anything. I spent some time working on my family tree, but even that time was spent trying to wrangle my thoughts.
