    In the first picture: a rowan or mountain ash (lijsterbes, literaly: thrush berry, thrushes indeed like the berries a lot). Second picture: A spear thistle (speerdistel). Third: The European dewberry (dauwbraam), a close relative to the blackberry. It's edible and I had a few today, I really like them. In the last photo a red-tailed bumblebee (steenhommel literally: stone bumblebee) on ragwort (duinkruiskruid, literally:dune cross herb), which has a lot of funny names in English, amongst them 'stinking nanny' and 'stinking willy'. The plant is poisonous, but every now and then a herbal tea drinker without a clue makes tea from it. Very unwise. It's poisonous to most mammals, but due to the bad taste, they usually stay away from it. For insects it's a magnet, they love it.

      That's great. I got a wild flora guide for hikes a few weeks ago, you kinda sound like it. Very impressive. Thanks for the info and the good pictures.

              Gandhalfit Thank you for the compliment! I usually consult guides and apps to be sure about what i found. I'm not very good at knowing stuff by heart, but I'm a pretty thorough researcher. For me that's the fun part: finding, looking and then remembering what I saw and see if I can put a name to it, by the looks, the habitat and the behaviour. Then I forget the name again ...
