Day 19 of 90 Days of Action, level 3, endurance
Day 19 of 30 Days of Yoga
Day 12 of the June challenge Punches & Squats (squats)
Daily Dare with extra credit (plank knee-to-elbows)
Cardio & Coordination Workout, level 1 with extra credit
10,5 km run, trails, sand, brick road

The Cardio & Coordination Workout was a new one for me and I think I like it. Saved it. The run was on the wrong time of the day, around 2 in the afternoon. It’s a quite hot day, 25 C. First part was in the woods, so that went well, but from km 2 it was all open terrain (dunes and beach). Sweated a lot and got this stinging sweat-sunscreen mixture in my eyes. I had to drag myself up over the sand dunes and I felt very sorry for myself.

Looked up the distance for the run in another app. That one says 14,5 km in stead of 10,5.

Day 20 of 90 Days of Action, level 3, stretching
Day 20 of 30 Days of Yoga
Day 13 of the June challenge Punches & Squats (punches)
Daily Dare with extra credit (arm scissors)

An easy day. I spend a large portion of the day in the hammock in the garden reading and dozing off. I guess I needed the rest.

I counted my daily dares, I’m at 18, 16 with extra credit. And I’m at 88 consecutive days of exercise.

Day 21 of 90 Days of Action, level 3, abs and core, fun plank variations, we all liked this one a lot
Day 21 of 30 Days of Yoga (meditation)
Day 14 of the June challenge Punches & Squats (hindu squats, thanks to Fremen)
Daily Dare with extra credit (reverse crunches)
            15 + 15 + 15 knee push-ups (my push-ups improvement plan)
10 km run, trail, mixed speeds (fartleg) and lots of uphill sprints
            Balance & Coordination Workout
            Rotator Cuff Workout
            Ankle Recovery Workout

Toppled over a few times on the Balance and Coordination Workout.

The run was great, I left at 9 in the evening, so I hardly saw other people. Lots of rabbits, it looks like a better year for them finally. I saw at least two species of bats. A group of bats was hunting together with swifts near a group of trees. Lovely sight, impossible to photograph in the low light.

So today’s pictures is cows. My path is occasionally blocked by the Highland cattle that run free in the dunes. It’s a very friendly breed of cows, but you still have to be careful around them. Today a blond calf was standing on the path, After a nosy glance in my direction he trotted over to his mum in the bushes. I thought I could pass and started running again, but there was dad, 800 kg of hair, horns and hooves! I made a little off-the-path detour.

Last picture is the wooden steps over the dunes closest to the sea, ran them up and down a few times.

Day 23 of 30 Days of Yoga
Day 16 of the June challenge Punches & Squats (Hindu squats)
Daily Dare with extra credit (scorpion twists, new to me, liked them)
Day 1 of the Upper Body Light Challenge (Nihopaloa mentioned that one, I’m giving it a try)
                  Rotator Cuff Workout
                  Balance & Coordination Workout
                  10 km run, mostly road

Had a nice easy run, small roads and park in a nearby village. Ran by a field full of young cows with soft, soft noses. The stone column in the second picture is an old boundary post, about 200 years old I’ve been told. It marks the border between two municipalities.

Day 24 of 90 Days of Action, level 3, cardio with burpees
Day 24 of 30 Days of Yoga
Day 17 of the June challenge Punches & Squats (punches)
Day 2 of the Upper Body Light Challenge (arm rotations)
Daily Dare with extra credit (back arch balance hold, needed a few tries before I got my extra credit)
                    Ankle Recovery Workout
                    20 + 20 + 20 knee push-ups (my push-ups improvement plan)

I’m using a small pillow with the push-ups now, on the floor between my hands, so I know how far to lower my body. That’s a great help.

Days without a run feel like rest days nowadays ...

                      20 + 20 + 20 + 20 knee push-ups (my push-ups improvement plan)

Finished most of it early in the morning.

10 km run in the afternoon, brick road, sand and trails. Did most of it barefoot. I made some pictures on the beach. Ran the last 3 km at full blast when I realised I had to be back at 4 to host a meeting. I was faster than I expected, just in time for my meeting.

CaptainCanuck Barefoot running works for me, but it does not for everyone. I got injuries from thick soled shoes. This combined with my physiotherapist telling me that I have a ‘peculiar’ way of running (I waddle) but I should not alter my way of running if it doesn’t cause injuries. She warned me that changing the way my feet touch the ground and my pronation might cause trouble. And I’ve always loved going without shoes. My forefeet are quite wide (with the waddle this paints a distinct picture ...) and there are a lot of shoes that don’t fit me. But what I love most about barefoot running and running with minimal shoes is the way it feels on your feet, the way you feel the different types of ground, the way your toes work with the feet.

Still, I always warn people: barefoot running might cause injuries and you should be careful if you try.

hc0381 Yeah, I’m very lucky to have landed here and l’m enjoying every step!

Day 26 of 90 Days of Action, no level today, just 70 push-ups over the day (we did them before breakfast)
Day 26 of 30 Days of Yoga
Day 19 of the June challenge Punches & Squats (punches)

Lower Back Workout because I pulled a muscle in my lower back, nothing serious, nice little workout (this + paracetamol + massage = pain gone)

Lots of arm and shoulder stuff, so I added:

Cardio & Coordination Workout, level 3, with the extra credit

Cat tried to headbutt me during side leg raises. Why?

Most trees in this coastal area lean to the east, due to the sea wind. The fields of Allium giganteum are still in bloom.
