I’ve tried them out this weekend, great crutches 😬!

On my way to the swimming pool last Friday I made a slip and my ankle doubled over. In an attempt to absorb the blow my other foot also doubled over. Now both feet are blue and injured. I’ve spend most of my weekend lying on the couch, crutches within reach. So my exercise programs are on hold for a while, obviously.

I’ve searched for workouts that I still can do despite the injury and found some upper-body exercises.

          AnnieW and Lallafa thanks !

I found some workarounds for doing exercises without using my feet. I can even do some push-ups wearing sturdy strapped sandals without putting any weight my feet.

Exercises can’t last for more than a few minutes though, as my feet have to be up (bloodcirculation) and start hurting badly when their not.

I feel well enough to resume the Pull-Up challenge. It’s sit-ups and pull-ups, that’s possible with the feet injury.

Also, I give it a new try with the Get to bed in time Challenge. Yesterday I was in bed at 23.15, that’s early for me. In the coming 30 days I have to be in bed at 23.30.

It has been 7 days now since the injury. The good news is that the swelling of my foot starts to decrease. Hardly being able to leave my couch though and staying home all the time is getting annoying. I’m glad and fortunate that being so dependent is just temporarily.

Best day after a week of immobility! I was chauffeured to the pool - can’t drive my car yet - and swam for half an hour. I didn’t know I could swim so many lanes using only my arms (20 lanes, pool is 50 m). Anyway, felt like waking up after having lived like a zombie.

I didn’t have time to exercise during the day and now in the evening I feel exhausted. I did my pull-up challenge and leave it like that, take some rest, go to bed early.

                            patwillwoo thanks 🙂!

The injury is getting better each day. I can walk without crutches inside the house. Though ‘stumbling’ might be a more appropriate word 😬.

I’ve started the 2000 Push-Up Challenge again. Completed the first nine days already (before my injury) but now I’ll start from scratch. In that way it’s a real day-to-day challenge and also my arms can get used to the exercise again. Not sure if my feet will be able to handle the weight as the number of push ups goes up, I’ll just give it a try.
Also, I‘ve started the Total Abs program, in which pressure on my feet can be avoided.

Yesterday I tried to drive my car but my feet still couldn’t handle the pressure. Today on my trip to the pool I was chauffeured, for which I was very grateful.
I swam very fast and didn’t need to take any breaks while normally I rest for some 10 or 30 seconds after every few lanes. Apparently my body had gathered a lot of energy while spending the past two days on the couch. Felt good to have some exercise again!

Went to bed late yesterday so I have an unchecked box with the Get to bed in time Challenge 😬. Tonight I’ll give day 9 of the challenge a second try.
