        Day 389

day 22 Fighters' Codex Okay, I so totally woosed out today and saved myself for the first training day of the year.
day 27 30 days of Yoga

         day 28 Negative Pullup
day 4 Counting Victories I must confess that when I first saw this challenge, I thought there was nothing in it for me. It's like that "Fifteen days of exercise" one - for me, it would be like cheating because I do that already. But I've come back to this challenge a few times, looked at it, read the instructions, and this time I decided that I would use it as a way of getting rid of all those things that are cluttering my mind - the little things, the boring, small jobs that just hang around because getting down to doing them is more trouble than they are worth. I would use it as a discipline and a way of inspiring me to unclutter my mind and my home. So far (but it's only day 4!) it's working - except that I sometimes find myself doing more than one because I've got into the groove. Oh, my! Whatever shall I do when I've run out of all these little tasks?? Yeah, like that's ever going to happen!!
day 2 Easy Abs I'm really enjoying these bicycle crunches.

M09 Home Front "We are not Alone". Half an hour of dancing/jogging on the spot, interspersed with punches, squats, jumping jacks and a one-minute plank. While folding a basket of washing. Well, I stopped folding while planking...

Taekwondo training. First training session of the new year. The GM took it easy on us (damn, I should have done more cardio this last month!). However, when it came to squats, I was totally brilliant (and modest, too!) because I've really been working on not leaning forward at all - and the Snowball Fight was a great help with all the practice... But the best thing about tonight (apart from getting back to training) was finding that my hamstrings did not hurt at all!! Woo-hoo! I was gentle but still pushed, and both legs kicked to about the same height so I am stoked. I thought they had suddenly (it seemed) got better, and tonight seemed to be proof of it. Yay, my hammies!

This idea is actually brilliant and ... very dangerous

I’ll have to give your Victories idea some thought. It IS a truly brilliant way to get those pesky “sub chore” things done. I like it!!

Ah, DorothyMH You should see it! I considered division by colour (there's only clear and blue, though) or by size (there are some tiny one, some regular size and a few jumbos) but then I wondered if that might be going just a bit too far...

                      Day 391

                       day 23 Fighters' Codex
day 29 30 days of Yoga

                       day 30 Negative Pullup
                      day 5 Counting Victories
                      day 4 Easy Abs

Taekwondo training. Lots of running interspersed with jump squats and other exercises, just to keep it interesting. Only about 10 push-ups today, and only a few punches. Focus was on kicking, particularly turning kicks. Did a lot of work on the prep, and then the kick. I like kicking.

Finally went to the chiropractor again today - after an absence of about 6 1/2 years! New chiro because my usual had retired due to shoulder injuries from rugby. Back responded nicely and I feel taller again. Hamstrings have really healed as I could put my hands flat on the floor with my legs straight. All good.

I'm running out of challenges and stuff here so I guess tomorrow I'll have to do something about that! There are a few I am considering but I have not yet made a choice. Another programme should probably also be selected. Next week the Elite training re-commences and, apart from next Monday, I'll be back to training 5 nights a week, so I'd better get Fighter's Codex finished. I'm thinking I should do some running. I don't like running but it is a great cardio exercise. There is a saying that goes "Keep a cow on an acre until you can keep a cow on an acre" and that means that the manure from the cow will fertilise the ground which in turn will grow food for the cow, and when there is a sufficiency of manure, there will be a sufficiency of food, and therefore the cow can be kept quite happily on that acre. Of course, in the early days, the cow's feed will have to be supplemented. I'll change that saying to "Run for fifteen minutes until you can run for fifteen minutes". So I'll have a go at running, accepting that in the early stages I won't get to fifteen minutes, but perhaps eventually I will. I considered using a distance but the time to cover a distance can vary, whereas fifteen minutes (black holes aside) are always fifteen minutes. Exactly how I'll do this, I don't know yet - I'll work that out tomorrow.

Just be warned, time dilation doesnt only occur in black holes

On a serious note, what I did was to use an online fitness tracker to plan out a bunch of routes around home. The variety helps with what can sometimes be a monotonous activity.

That timing idea sounds like a good one- great rationale, anyway!

You have multi colored bubble wrap???

I like that philosophy, may I paraphrase, muddle through it until you can do it. I got a new motto now. Because that's the approach I'm taking to pretty much everything!
