                        ​​​ day 16 Fighters' Codex With particular focus on the full 180 degree rotation of supporting foot in turning kick. Oh, that felt good!
                        ​​​ day 16 Ironborn How do you feel when you're in a plank and the kitten crouches down, stares you in the face, and starts making those wriggling moves that indicate an imminent attack?! And what is it about side planks that make them so much fun? Or is that just me...
                        ​ day 11 30 days of Yoga I had an issue with pose 11 (candlestick/shoulder stand) today. Due to my neck issues, putting much (read "practically any") pressure on my neck is not advised, so I did this one while keeping much of my weight on my upper back. Figured that was good enough. As always, I take these as "serving suggestions" and adapt as necessary.

                        day 12 Easy Cardio At first I was just whipping through these step jacks, but I have started taking them a little slower, making sure that my weight is balanced in the middle, hands touching above, before I step together again. Doing them slower also makes the arms work harder. Sometimes, just for fun, I do them in a quarter squat position - but only when I'm really feeling masochistic. And if (hah! read "when") I do the "throughout the day" ones all in one go, really feel that burn from what can be seen as a comparatively easy exercise!

                              day 13 Flexibility I really must split this up into manageable sets! Not that I can't do 100 side lunges at a go physically, it's just that my brain says dull dull dull and it doesn't want to do them, but 2 or 3 sets of fewer lunges wouldn't be so bad. Knowing how I am with high numbers of the same exercise, I should have checked this one before I started, but now I have put my hand to the plough, I continue.

                                Check out that beautiful green beetling on her feathers. They are Australorp crosses. I've been waiting for them since before Christmas. I've got two and they are about 18 weeks old so it'll be about a month before they start laying. Put bird netting over the top of the run because new young chooks have a tendency to fly out, so I thought I had it all sorted. But when I went out this evening, I couldn't find the darn things! Turns out they managed to get through the one part I hadn't thought to close off and were roosting in the tree that hangs over the chicken coop - about 6-7m up! So I had to drag out the ladder from under the deck, haul it into the chicken run, prop it up against the corrogate roof of the coop, on very uneven ground and clamber up it. I hate ladders. Then, once I got to the top, I had to detatch the chicken from the tree and get her to clutch onto my hand (that's not so hard) and then get down the ladder with her (that's not so easy). Twice. Daughter came out to see what was taking me so long and I told her I'd named these new girls Trouble and Strife!
