      Day 83

      Challenges:
      First Thing Water (day 26)
Core Control (day 21 and 22)
      1 Minute Cardio (day 22)
      Power Grip (day 16)
      1000 Push-ups (day 3)
      Calves of Steel (day 3)
      Iron Core (day 3)
      Walking to Running (day 3)

      Workout:
Wildcard This was so much fun! Got 45 push-ups to add to my Pushers count, as well as 180 kicks and 315 punches for We're fighting...

      Programme:
      day 17 Express Tone
      Alternate Bicep Curls: 50 - 50 - 46 - 40 - 40
      Alternate Triceps Extensions: 50 - 40 - 34 - 34 - 26
For the biceps, I used my heavier weights, and for the triceps I moved up to the medium weights. I compared my last lot of triceps extensions ( 40 - 46 - 48 - 48 - 42) with today's and, as we can all see, mine are (except for the first set) lower, but not hideously so. I really want to thank (again) Fremen and HellYeah for their advice which encouraged me to try harder with more weight rather than just increasing the reps (that's cardio, you know! ) The bicep curls count also went up, so I must be getting stronger.

DD with EC (#82). Total DD = 83. With the changes, I now have to wait until 2 o'clock in the afternoon (when daylight savings ends and I get one more hour of sleep on Sunday (@VacTom I'll sleep your lost hour for you!!), it'll be 3 o'clock!), so I can't do it first thing. Oh well.

Last night I read through my own thread, from my early days (all the way back to mid-January!!) to now, and I was again struck by all the nice Bees we have here, by the congrats we give and receive, by the advice and encouragement that goes back and forth. As I read through my (albeit short) journey, I have seen how I have developed, and how I have been kept accountable by this thread. There were times when I wanted to drop a programme or challenge but I didn't want to look a wimp so I pushed through, and ultimately I was glad I had done so. I have read so many of the articles in the Fitness section and learnt so much; I have been inspired by other Bees' threads - never to jealousy but often to wistfulness which is just another driver to work myself to achieve my goals and try to reach others I hadn't even considered. So, a big thank you to all the Bees out there, to neilarey, to Damer and to the rest of the DAREBEE team, for creating and being part of a really cool community.

That's a perfect summary of what makes darebee the most amazing online platform I've ever been a part of.

            Io6 Illéa Thanks.

            Day 84

            Challenges:
            First Thing Water (day 27)
Core Control (day 23 and 24)
            1 Minute Cardio (day 23)
            Power Grip (day 17)
            1000 Push-ups (day 4)
            Calves of Steel (day 4)
            Iron Core (day 4)
Walking to Running (day 4) I had to walk 15 minutes today (on the treadmill - the weather was lousy anyway), so I went walking with Treadmill TV and went through some snowy landscape, all blackened lifeless trees and white snow. Must say, not terribly uplifting!

            Workout:
            Method to my Madness

            Programme:
            day 18 Express Tone
            Lunge to Shoulder Press: 18 - 18 - 16 - 16 - 14
            Squats: 40 - 40 - 40 - 40 - 36
As I was struggling through the lunges, to comfort myself, I kept reciting HellYeah's words of wisdom..."13 is cardio, 13 is cardio..."! When I hit cardio, I felt I had done well.

DD with EC (#83). Total DD = 84. Two o'clock today but when daylight savings ends tomorrow, it'll be three.

                Day 85

                Challenges:
                First Thing Water (day 28)
Core Control (day 25 and 26)
                1 Minute Cardio (day 24)
                Power Grip (day 18)
                1000 Push-ups (day 5)
                Calves of Steel (day 5)
                Iron Core (day 5)
                Walking to Running (day 5)

                Workout:
Wolverine - no URL for this old Neila Rey one because I can't recall where I found it, but it had me do raised leg push-ups, which were a bit of a challenge! Strange, since stacked push-ups aren't so hard and they are kind of similar...

                Programme:
                day 19 Express Tone
                Hammer curls: 20 18 - 17 - 16 - 16
                Bent-over rows: 20 - 16 - 16 - 16 - 16
I hadn't used my heavier weights for the hammer curls before so I was pleased with what I achieved. The bent-over rows were a little odd: I found I started off fine but tanked pretty quickly!

DD with EC (#84). Total DD = 85.

                      Day 86

                      Challenges:
                      First Thing Water (day 29)
Core Control (day 27 and 28)
                      1 Minute Cardio (day 25)
                      Power Grip (day 19)
                      1000 Push-ups (day 6)
                      Calves of Steel (day 6)
                      Iron Core (day 6)
                      Walking to Running (day 6)

                      Workout:
At the recommendation of Fremen I did Upperbody Tendon Urgh, nearly killed me! My arms!!

                      Programme:
                      day 20 Express Tone
And to go with the arms, my !

DD with EC (#85). Total DD = 86.

                      I have been encouraged
                      browbeaten!
into doing pull-up stuff, breaking out of my comfort zone and pushing (or pulling) my limits. Now, my bar is still inaccessible but I'll have to do something pretty promptly and unearth it! Then I shall channel my inner Bruce Lee and Kitten (obscure references here, but those who know, know!!), and we shall see what we shall see! This is one of the posters I have up in my workout room, and I have to remember it!

                            Day 87

                            Challenges:
First Thing Water (day 30) I'll continue doing this because I liked it.
Core Control (day 29 and 30) After doing Splits and then this one, I am SO not doing any side leg raises for a while!!
                            1 Minute Cardio (day 26)
                            Power Grip (day 20)
                            1000 Push-ups (day 7)
                            Calves of Steel (day 7)
                            Iron Core (day 7)
Walking to Running (day 7) I nearly didn't do this one today because I really didn't feel like it, but I pulled my finger out and made myself do it and it wasn't so bad after all. I'm sure I'd feel worse if I'd just wimped out. There was absolutely no real reason not to do it so I did it, continued my walk through the Inniswood Park (wherever that is - somewhere in the USA, I guess).

                            Workout:
Today's workout comprised first sweeping and then swabbing the deck. A-har me hearties! (need a pirate smiley!) That was certainly a workout and one of the reasons I found exercising today so difficult!

                            Programme:
                            day 21 Express Tone
                            Alternating Bicep Curls: 56 - 54 - 54 - 48 - 46
                            Bentover Tricep Extensions: 60 - 60 - 60 - 72 (Hey, what?!) - 64
                            Alternating Tricep Extensions: 30 - 32 - 28 - 28 - 28
Improvement in ABCs from 4 days ago, which was pleasing to see. First time of doing bentover tricep extensions, and I used the middle weights as with the alternating tricep extensions. There was a decrease in the ATEs but that's not surprising given I'd just burnt out the triceps with the bentover extensions! Anyway, I was still quite happy with what I did. I'm thinking that I might have to see if I can get some heavier weights in the near future... this is too much "cardio"!!

                            Mental
Thought I'd just add this because the mind needs exercising too.
Duolingo - got to maintain my streak, which is currently at 213 days!
Coursera - found out some previously paid courses are free until end of May so I'm doing the Science of Exercise, and Disaster Preparedness at the moment.

DD with EC (#86). Total DD = 87.

Two challenges completed today, a new challenge begins on the morrow!!
