You seem to be working on similar muscles, but seem to have more knowledge on what to do. Any advice?
cjohnson.usmc I can, of course, only say what seems to be doing things for me. When I use a band, I have it just above my ankles (some people recommend higher up, around the knees, but this works best for me), and I make sure it is tight ALL the time - tight before I step and tighter when I step, so at no time does the band get to relax. Then, yep, I really feel it in the outside of the hips. Generally, it takes only one set of 10 and I'm already really feeling it. Sometimes, if I'm energetic or I remember, I'll do a few sets a day. Another good exercise, especially if you have lower back issues, is bridges. Take them slowly, and if you're strong enough, advance to single leg bridges. Also have a go at dead bugs (I love these; they are such fun!) and bird-dogs. If you're weak in the lower back, look to planks. Similarly, you could just look at general core exercises because sometimes a weak back is also because of weak abs/core. Good luck.

              day 29 Good morning
              day 14 Daily Floss

              Strength/rehab work:
              - bridges x 50
              - tiny steps x 50
              - lateral walk with resistance band - 10 steps each side x 2

              - Figure 8 - Back to Front x 10.

Taekwondo Grading. First big Grading since the end of 2019! Was nice to be with so many people again. The power of so many voices yelling Kiyah! together is always phenomenal! So now it's over until next term - so the rest of this week and then two more weeks off. Should give me some time to work on a few things. I spent some of last evening going through DAREBEE workouts - yeah, I know, talk about suffering! The hardest part was trying to choose the ones most appropriate right now, the ones that I thought addressed my current issues, and not just the ones that look like fun. I think I've done so, and after tomorrow or perhaps a bit later (could be a bit busy, what with the lead-up to Easter and all) we shall see what we shall see.

Had a lovely day today. Took the children to the Tea Shop where we scoffed scones with jam and cream - except the Little Lad prefers the rose-petal infused butter on his. Weird... Looking after the chooks of the lady across the road for a bit - how she's incorporated greens in the run has given me some ideas. The weather has been wonderful - we do turn on excellent autumns around here! Got to be making the Hot Cross Buns tomorrow. I'm a stickler for the rules, and as much as I love them, I refuse to have them before the proper day. They taste so much better freshly made. With a nice, sticky, cinnamony glaze. And, of course, a good cup of tea.

I've really got to get a programme or two going. As I said earlier, I've got a swag of workouts to do with a rehab focus, and there are a couple of programmes that are just calling my name. Actually, more than a couple so it'll be a bit difficult. But we'll see. Good Friday to you all.
