Thanks, Fremen DorothyMH TheLibrarian Anek stephenphillips42 Silent Wolf Julian4077 I found it a fun challenge.

            Day 416

            day 8 Back and Core

day 30 Counting Victories Oh no, I've still got loads of stuff to do!
            day 19 Flex Hang
            day 14 Hug
day 1 Walk and Run So my masochistic side didn't get an airing. And I like how this challenge requires consistency rather than improvement (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Poomsae training. Had a chat with the coach tonight. Told him I felt that I couldn't do anything well. He said that not only was I comparing myself to people whose average age was about 15 (apart from when E comes, I'm the only one over 30), but they'd also been doing elite athlete training for years and I'd really only just started. He said that my flexibility was really good, and that if I were up against people of my age and rank, I'd probably win. The problem is, as he explained, that my ideal perfect pattern is (attribute arbitrary value here) 10, and I see myself as 5. As I learn more and improve, I see no change in the distance between where I am and where my ideal pattern is because as I've become a 10, my ideal has become a 15. The lines continue with an upward trajectory but the distance between the two lines never changes, no matter how I improve because the more I learn, the better a pattern has to be performed in order for me to say it's my ideal. Understanding that suddenly makes things clearer, and I suppose it's the same for all of us Bees here. Once we've mastered the level 1 programmes and workouts that were initially so hard, we move up to level 2, and those level 1s become not challenges but warm-ups! We can never reach that peak because we can always see how we can improve. Unfortunately, as has happened to me, sometimes we don't realise how far up that mountain we've already climbed. My coach said that he wanted more people like me in the cohort, people who knew they were never going to be champions or represent the country at the Olympics but who just want to get better at poomsae.
But don't get me wrong: I still think I'm rubbish at it, but that's partly because I know exactly how a move should be done properly but my body won't co-operate. But I know where I'm going wrong, and if I know that, I can work on fixing it.
I felt embarrassed because I was opening myself up and confessing to utter uselessness and a crisis of confidence, but ultimately I'm glad I had that chat; I don't think he was saying things just to make me feel better because that helps neither of us. Writing this out and thinking about what he said, I am feeling a little better - not more confident in my ability but more inspired to work harder to improve. But it's bedtime now so it'll keep until tomorrow.

Your Poomsae training coach seemed to have good advice related to that!

                            day 20 Flex Hang
day 15 Hug So sad - my last hug.
                            day 2 Walk and Run

Taekwondo training. Tonight I counted the push-ups again. They seemed to go on forever! Must confess, the last three or so were helped a little by a knee and I could feel my back moving a bit too much, but then the count did go up to 30.

Haven't had a chance to select new challenges to replace the completed ones yet. Maybe tomorrow. I'd like to repeat these last two but perhaps not just yet - or rather, perhaps I don't need to list them here as challenges but do them anyway.
