plus a bunch of prone core work too

    still lots of options!

Seriously though: I am glad your ankle survived its encounter with the hole and that your shoulder is improving.

Rehab continues...but a major milestone today!

        Training!!!!!!!
I got through 90min of drills, technique and sparring with only 1 short shoulder maintenance break.
The endorphins at the moment are crazy, I'm on a massive high.

Did a full cool down and stretch out when I got home. Still no discomfort, just feels fatigued. Drank plenty of water, now to get some sleep and reassess in the morning.

Congrats , the first day back from injury always feels so great, even if our bodies technically don't

I was the lowest rank there last night and I have been out for a couple of weeks so I was slaughtered. But it was awesome CaptainCanuck ! I got so many pointers, it was like gold.
Honestly ended the night drenched in sweat and reacquainted with every texture on the mat but glowing with well being towards all mankind.
Shoulder held up, just really weak today. My first rehab session this morning told me about lots of really tender spots. Waiting with interest to see if any bruises show up.

Ha not bruising! I've got DOMS all through my left bicep and shoulder and across my pecs. Nothing to write home about.
              Did all my stuff today
Then, because my son is adamant that he wants to ditch boxing and do Kung fu, I took the kids through a quick sample...it did not include becoming Bruce Lee in 2 seconds flat and they were disappointed.
Strange but true: you can't deliver a flying kick to the head if you are a) 4'2" and b) don't know how to deliver a kick

I find this an unacceptable limitation to personal expression

You're right Fremen , tomorrow I'll see if the kids are interested in racking up 10 000 flying side kicks. It's going to be interesting but maybe if we reach 10 000 they might be able to do it. I haven't done this stuff properly in years so it will be the somewhat confused leading the blind.
Dare to dream...but not kicking for the head. Complete waste of effort when the torso is a much easier target.

Legs too, I doubt that an attacker will persevere in his bad intentions by hopping on one leg

A leg stomp is a beautiful thing. Or step in and hook the leg and follow them down with an elbow in the gut.
They're not getting up in a hurry so punch 'em in the head and run like the clappers.
Yeah, what I'd be aiming for in a self defence situation is a bit different to a lot of the martial arts stuff. It's why I've got the kids starting with boxing.

One of our patterns ends with a foot stomp and a back-fist to the nose. I've always liked that ending.

I've been keeping on. Have been given the ok to start hanging exercises, assessing what I can do with push ups and planking. Exciting times

Trained last night- I feel like a chicken that has been half butterflied. The slaughter was minimised because no one would choke, lock or arm bar me on the left side

As of today I'm starting yoga days again. I need some recovery.

                            Three sessions of rehab

                            40min of yoga

Not feeling quite so beaten up now but definitely laughing at my lifestyle choices as I struggled to hang washing on the line

Yep, sometimes I've wished the Hills hoist would wind way lower to the ground! Get the little ones to peg up all those socks!

We've made a little hill for the kids to stand on when they're hanging up the washing TopNotch ...I may have used it a couple of times yesterday . We had a blanket load
