      Punching and footwork drills- sweating all the sweat!

      Family does Hero's Journey:

      Day 5_"why do we have to go through the forest?" Good thing there was something to find at the end!

      5min of handstand prep.:

      We shall see DorothyMH !
      I was doing some reccie on different walls for spacings, turned out to be a good advertising ploy.
      The kids held up well through the first legs up but things got messy on the 2nd 30s. The phrase "legs to where you're comfortable" needs fine tuning.

      Primal movement session:

      A mate from jits does this regularly and is keeping up some awesome form. So I'm getting on board.
      Tonight I did 30min of bear crawl variations. Sweating all over the shop but managed to keep it smooth.

          On hold, we went to the park for a couple of hours and the phrase "push ups to failure" nearly caused a revolt.

          5min of handstand prep.:

          The audience was getting restless so 90s of plank suddenly sold much better than 2 shorter activities!

          Primal movement session:

          30min of rolling and related movements. It was really nice to just step it through the balance points then just keep rolling with everything slow and smooth.

            Family does Hero's Journey:

            Day 6_I mixed 'weapons' training with part 1 and set push ups at 5. This was still like pulling teeth, not a good omen for this program.

            Primal movement session:

            30min of plow related movements. Spent a good wack of time staring at my feet. I've decided that anyone lucky enough to end up with my foot in their face should be thanking me.

              Yep...Hero's journey is dead like the Dodo. I considered picking it up by myself, like Fireheart, but l'm not feeling it.

              Drills- boxing footwork feels like being at the base of a mountain. I got a long way to go!!

              Woohoo! Got the kids on board for this one!

                  Primal movement session:

                  30min of tumbling. Bits of this worked but my balance was all over the shop so this was all a bit more up hill than usual.

                  Throwing the towel in in disgust, try again tomorrow.

                      10th November

                      Morning:

                      Training- Not going to lie. I got worked into a giant puddle of jelly...then told to start skipping. Not sure if you've tried jumping rope when your arms and legs aren't obeying commands, it wasn't pretty. I kept moving and then got to punch stuff for a while. Apparently we're working on conditioning. I'm really looking forward to the next few weeks.

                      30min of ape hop variations. My legs dislike me intensely today. They have clearly forgotten that it's always leg day!

                        I feel your pain. Family workouts are oh so much fun some days. Congratulations on completing Zero Hero with the family and great work on all of your efforts to keep your kids involved.

                        Great work too on all of your tumbling rolling footwork exhaustion-skipping pool noodle-dodging primal movements. That is an intense training regimen you've got yourself into!

                            Full participation today. The 30s legs against the wall start is all important!

                            Then we all did some yoga: Better sleep

                            30min of leg sweeps and combo work, mainly spinning to face all the directions like a demented pin wheel.

                                Morning:

                                Drills

                                Primal movement session:

                                30min of crab/ under switch variations. Sweating all the sweat. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast!

                                Aaaand then some malevolent diety decided that everyone's shit would hit the fan on a Friday afternoon at work today...on an afternoon when I had back to back meetings.
                                Put out fires (not literal) and then went and hid on the floor with my kids, we had take away and watched movies.
