This afternoon we had a decent walk, around 12,000 steps, which put me to around 17,000 for the day.

This evening we did a level II in Day 19 of 90 Days of Action, a level III in Day 20 of 90 Days of Action, a level I in 60 Days of Cardio, and a level I in Hero's Journey. We also finished up our add-ons for HJ, doing biceps curls, bent over rows, shoulder presses and planks. I finished off the planks from the morning, doing 2:00, 1:00 and 0:20.

One of the video challenges we were doing was for four weeks, but we didn't realize that it repeated every week, so we skipped it in the interest of variety (not sure if that is a valid excuse). So we did only the one video - Day 29 of Action Jacquelyn's 30 Day Sculpted Leg Challenge.

My "to failure" in pushups for HJ was 25-23-22-20-15 and it gave me 140 for the day. I do count pushup planks as pushups, provided I pushup at the end and don't collapse. There were five of those in 90 Days of Action. My 160 day count for pushups is 18,090.

This morning I did both halves of part I of Day 7 of Spartan Trials and a level III in part 2. I did both halves because I only managed two pullups in each set, because of the extra weight of the vest and the ankle weights. I felt like I was getting off a little easy. I also did a level I in Day 7 of Fighters Codex. I liked the Jet Li theme, though don't really know that much about him for it to make sense.

I also did about 10 minutes of wood chopping and tire hammers. I needed the piece of wood that I am chopping for a new project, so I wanted to get through it, though it surprisingly split in two after 5 minutes, so I finished the ten minutes on the sledgehammer.

My wife did her routine around noon, as as the children were uncharacteristically asleep at the same time, I joined her. I repeated the routine I did a few weeks ago, with pushups, ball slams and combat ropes, but I added high plank chain pull throughs and bear crawls. I did 10 of the pull throughs, and each set I did the length of the exercise room twice, which was about 16 bear paces (the path is shown below). I did 4 sets of this. I also juggled for about 2 minutes on the bosu ball while I waited for her to finish.

The SpikeBall/Round Net set came today, but we didn't have time to try it out, though we did set it up. We will be getting lots of rain thanks to the leftovers of Hurricane Cristobal, so we might not have much outside time for the next two days.

Tonight we did a level I in Day 14 of 60 Days of Cardio, a level I in Day 21 of 90 Days of Action and a level I in Day 14 of Hero's Journey. We had more planned but a non-cooperative baby got in the way of our plans.

I finished the day with 70 pushups.

I was going to argue with you on some subject, but when I saw the first photo, I decided to agree with you on everything.

For parents Meditation challenge is a must.

Lord Ynwa As WSMC27 would say, I am not a wood chopping expert, I am a wood chopping enthusiast. Now just to convince my wife that I am not a dishwashing enthusiast.

We had the remnants of hurricane track over top of us today, which is quite odd considering where I live (about 800 km from the geographic centre of North America). So this morning it was raining pretty heavily and well into the afternoon. So I decided to swap today's training with tomorrow's, as today's was supposed to be an outside day, and tomorrow was inside. So I did Day 8 of Spartan Trials and Day 8 of Fighters Codex. I was surprised that the blindfolded balancing was so difficult, having never tried it before. I had to put my foot down a few times during the course of each 60 seconds, and one side I somehow did a 90 degree turn without realizing it.

The rest of the day was pretty sedentary, and it was a challenge even to get to 6,000 steps.

Tonight we did a level I in Day 15 of 60 Days of Cardio, and a level I in each of Day 22 and Day 23 of 90 Days of Change. My wife didn't get to finish Hero's Journey last night because of the baby, so she did that and five sets of Day 15 of Hero's Journey, while I did 10 sets. I lost track of the count on to-failure pushups, but managed one set of 28, one of 24 and one of 22. I ended up with 185 through HJ, plus 24 from the other programs. I use the app to track my pushups, but some times when tired I hit the rep button again instead of the finish button which I did after one set, so I had to add in an extra pushup (sort of outside of the programs, 210 in total). I did skip the ankle and wrist weights for this though as I am having some tightness in my right knee today for whatever reason.

We also did one video - Day 30 of Action Jacquelyn's 30 Day Sculpted Leg Challenge, to finish. We should have finished last night, but the baby thought otherwise.

This morning I did day 8 of 30 Days of Change. This called for a combination of walking and running over 40 minutes, but I just combined it into a 40 minute run. 40 minutes is good fit for the waterfront run, so I headed there. After yesterday's storm, the weather today was kind of weird, only 7 degrees when I left which is pretty cold for this time of year. Also the rain was on and off, as was the the sun. I did the 7.2 km in 39:32 and then ran to the small ampitheatre to do part II. This is only about an extra 150 meters, and I finished in 40:16. I did a level III in part 2, though sprinting at that point for me was not at all sprinting. I just ran across from one side of the ampitheatre to the other, doing a pushup or squat as required. I got to 8 and added 2 more to make 10.

Tomorrow is our 18th anniversary, I can safely say that we wouldn't have made it passed 4 if it hadn't been for us splashing out and getting a dishwasher.
I value our relationship and make sure there's always enough money on hand to replace the dishwasher quickly if it breaks!

I was also surprised how difficult balancing blindfolded was when I did Day 8 of Spartan Trials. I kept needing to flail my arms to keep my balance, but even then I had to catch myself with my foot a few times. I interpreted it as 30 seconds per foot, so I wasn't even doing it as long as you were per side...

Io6 Congrats on your anniversary! Since moving out of apartment living (hopefully for the rest of our lives), the dishwasher is one of our most talked about big buys. Not yet though.

Whirly15 I interpreted it the same way, but there was one in both Spartan Trials and Fighters Codex on the same day, so I just went for 60 seconds.

Tonight we did a level I in Day 16 of 60 Days of Cardio, a level I in Day 24 of 90 Days of Change, and Hero's Journey Day 16. It seemed like we were going to have an uncooperative baby, but I somehow got him to go back to sleep after 10 minutes. Still this chopped our workout in two, so I didn't get as much done as I wanted. I ended up with only 50 pushups because of it (after 10 this morning).

We did two videos - 5 Minute Beginner Ab Workout from Sofie Barnova and 10 Minute Booty Band Burn from Lindsay Bushman.

We finished up by playing table tennis for 10 minutes/1 game.

Haha, I think the clearest sign that my relationship is still fresh is that he keeps offering me to wash the dishes himself and vice versa.

                        Mianevem That’s really sweet!

CaptainCanuck I really like yesterday’s pictures! Nice skies (is that a correct plural?). The waterfront looks like a great spot for a run.

The most valid! Cloudy skies over the water look really cool somehow!

Mianevem I agree with the above, that is very sweet.

AnnieW Thanks! And yes, it is good for lots of reason. I like the view, no traffic, plus also very flat for the times that I don't want to tax my legs too much (and skies is correct).

Belerith I don't know much about photography, I am very much in the habit of taking hundreds of pictures and finding the one or two that look ok. That said, I find the same thing, that the pictures I take of grey skies over water sometimes look stunning.

This morning I did a shorter run for day 17 of Hero's Journey. I did about 4 km (the trails I took are not in the route tracker) in 21:43. It was more of a recovery run after yesterday.

A lot busier day today, after some slow days recently. After the run this morning, I barely had time to eat breakfast before mowing the lawn (which takes around 50 minutes).

I don't think that I mentioned last week that I won another $20 from the fitness app, and I used it to buy the following:

A throwing ax is again a little bit like darts in terms of exercise, but probably a bit more robust. The throwing is not that hard, but it makes for a lot of walking back and forth when there is only one ax! Also it took a bit of time to set up the crude target (this is why I needed to finish chopping it earlier this week). Note though that the above picture is partially staged - out of about 25 throws, I only hit the target with the blade twice, and both times it fell out due to the wood being pretty hard. So I knocked the ax into the mark where I had hit.

We also did a 30 minute walk later. The combination of everything got me over 18,000 steps for the day, which is a decent output after I slowed down after making my bigger goal last month.

After supper we did the back yard with the kids, and after a couple of stormy days, I finally got a chance to try out the spikeball set that I got (also basically for free thanks to the fitness app). It took a few attempts to start to get the concept of it, not to mention that it is supposed to be played with four people, and also that the toddler took an interest in it numerous times. We also did a bit of badminton after.

Tonight we combined two days of my fitness plan together, in part because I knew that one of the days of Hero's Journey had a chocolate bar as the reward, and as we are planning an off day tomorrow, I wasn't 100% confident that the chocolate bars that I bought today would make it through the day tomorrow. So we did a level I in all of Day 9 of 30 Days of Change, Day 17 and Day 18 of 60 Days of Cardio, and Day 25, Day 26, and Day 27 of 90 Days of Change. We did a level I as well in Day 17 of Hero's Journey and did the weights and the planks. We also did a level III in Day 18 of Hero's Journey to earn the chocolate, though as usual I did march steps instead of high knees, and we skipped the ankle weights.

For anyone who didn't see in another post that I made, two nights ago some scofflaw went through my car (admittedly unlocked) and took pretty much everything of value, including the chocolate bar that I had bought for this challenge. So this was even more hard earned than I had originally planned. I am not really much of a chocolate person, but when mixed with mint, there are few tastes that I like better.

I did 200 pushups today, 82 between two programs and then to failure in Hero's Journey at 22-13-15-10-15-10-12-8-9-6.

This is also my 1000th post. Yay Darebee!
