Get Strong! Week 5 Day 7
Circuit of the following exercises completed 4 times.
    1. One-leg assisted pull-up x5 (chair 1 ft in front of me)
    2. Bulgarian Split Squats x5
    3. Pushups x5
    4. One-legged elevated glute bridge x10
    5. Plank 30s

Very hard today. I'm so tired despite going in bed in time to get 8 hours of sleep. Felt pretty weak today, but the workout wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be.
I think I may have increased this past progression a but too much; pushups are a struggle as well as planks. I think that's fine, but apparently I shouldn't be struggling to finish the workout. I will keep that in mind for the final progression in week 7.

I was so tired in fact, that when I was making the strawberry port sauce for strawberry tarts tonight, I definitely put salt in in place of sugar... so I will make a new batch tomorrow.

Oops, salt instead of suger is definitely something you're gonna notice 🙈
Hope you regain energy soon. Maybe you're a bit overtrained?

NancyTree Yeah, we definitely noticed! Luckily soaking strawberries and making the sauce takes the least amount of time, so I can make them today.
I am a but afraid of overtraining, yeah. I wasn't feeling it before this last progression so I do think I increased the difficulty a bit too much, I'm afraid. - especially regarding push-ups and planks. I am seeing improvements, but I don't want short-term gains at the expense of long-term ones.
Limits are so annoying! Luckily today is a rest day as far as strength goes and today's exercises are light - just enough to break up my sedentary life.

              Felt great!

After talking with some friendly Bees about my fatigue and difficulty in my workouts lately, I decided that I did too much of a progression and lowered some of the workout difficulty a bit. This resulted in a much better workout - still worked up quite a sweat and needed some rest rounds, but it wasn't fatigue. It was enough to give me some great energy for the rest of the day and feels good.
Gotta love having such wonderful Bees to bounce ideas off of.

Looking forward to tomorrow. Now I just need to fix up my sleeping schedule again...

Oh and in the spirit of Fremen and his partner's delicious baking, I have my own properly finished treats to show off:
Strawberry Tarts with homemade Mascarpone and a Port-Thyme glaze.

                  4. One-legged elevated glute bridge x10
                  5. Plank 15s
Was able to do this in the morning and it still felt good.

In addition to regular workouts, I also did some furniture rearranging (including moving a bookcase and all the books upstairs) and made myself a nice little PC/Book nook in my bedroom. I like it so much better than it was before. I'm pretty worn out but it was worth it.

                  Food Log
Lunch - Half a Chipotle burrito of cheese, carnitas, veggies, guacamole, salsa, and rice. Ordered beans, not rice, so it ended up being a little more carb heavy and less protein than I intended, but I'll just balance that out tomorrow. Eaten with a good amount of full-fat sour cream.
Tea Time - Taiwanese Peach Oolong tea, an apple, a handful of sunflower seeds, and a fig cookie.
Dinner - Other half of Chipotle burrito and 2 handfuls of cheeze-its.

15m walk in the nice weather

Oh what a day. Very tired today. Perhaps still not recovered from the other day's moving? Discovered a leak in our ceiling in the kitchen - all over the floor. Seems to be coming from one of the bathrooms after giving our daughter a bath tonight. So can't use that anymore. Could explain the COCKROACH I discovered today too.
There's nothing to do for it at the moment, what with corona crisis meaning we can't afford it, even if we could get someone to come in. Can only hope it doesn't get worse.

                      Food Log
Lunch - zucchini and cheese omelette with bacon. Had some help from the little one. Also made some oatmeal with homemade granola and honey.
Tea Time - 2 handfuls of sunflower seeds
Dinner - Poke Bowl with white rice and salad. Half a glass of mead.

After tonight's fiasco I had a cup of ice cream with some fudge.

Took daughter to spend the day with her grandparents. Didn't do much today but play some videogames, watch bad movies, and eat bad food. Didn't run today bc of poor sleep. That's what I get for such a sweet - and processed - late night snack.

On a fitness note, I've been considering what I want my next program to be, since I'm nearing the end of this one. There's another bodyweight course in the same program I have, this one 14 weeks long and slightly different. But I think instead of jumping straight into that, I may do some DareBee program, get a badge before moving on.

Currently stuck between Hero's Journey and Spartan Trials. Anyone have suggestions?
While prowling around the workouts, I found the Power Fast meal plan! No matter which program I do, I think I'll try out that way of eating.

HellYeah and NancyTree thanks for the solidarity. It doesn't seem too bad; just 1 soggy patch in the ceiling, though it is pretty big - probably about 4" in diameter. We've decided not to use anything in that bathroom in the meantime. It's our only bathtub, but we do have a shower in another bathroom, so it won't effect our lives too much, just makes toddler bedtime a bit less enjoyable. So, all in all, we got lucky.

Pretty good day today. Those Daily Dare dead bugs are tougher than they look!
Been looking around some more and I think I want to do Spartan Trials next, alongside the Walking to Running program. While I like my current strength training, and the progress I've gained with it, it is a little dull. The fun thing about DareBee workouts is that they are so variable, even in one program. I've also been super inspired by Neila Rey and Rainbow Dragon's Before and After progress. I've got two more weeks of this program to go, including one last progression. Looking forward to moving on.

Fremen thanks. I just hope it doesn't get worse. I know leaks are bad news.
