    Still kicking

Hey everyone! Still kicking.... Obviously? Sorry about a new thread, just feel like being spontaneous!

Anyway, I've lost 12 lbs, down to 220.

Last week I was able to run a 5k on a trail. I love running trails. In the meantime, I decided I'm going to run a half marathon in about a year at the Baltimore Running Festival. Whoop whoop!

This evening I did a partial pyramid of push ups and pull ups
    1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 3, 1... That second 3 was the end of my rope.

Apparently, doing that run last week really got my legs remembering what they're supposed to do. I did another 5k on the same trail and lost 1:48 seconds off my time.

My cardio still seems good from my rowing over the past few weeks but my legs just weren't up to the task the first time. Up and down hills is amazing though, I feel like I'm running after prey. The hunt is on!

BlackButler thanks, man! It's good to be back. Hoping to run a minimum of 15km/week for the next few weeks as I continue to get used to it. Long term goal is 180lbs. I've got 40lbs to go. Ugh, lol.

Sarasta .... Not sure why the tag function won't work.... Whatever. Thank you! It will be a long time in coming. Long term goal is to run in Spartan races, Warrior dashes, and bonefrog competitions. I have my goals set up... Now to reach them...

            Small strength workout tonight.

            Pull ups x1
            Push ups x2
            Plank side leg raises x4
            1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 4, 1

It feels good. Also did 3 chin ups on a whim. Need more of those to balance out my arms. xD

Took a 3km-ish walk this morning and my ankle started feeling much better. My mistake was making a rather noob mistake and had too much cheese during lunch.

So, after my walk this morning I felt well enough for a run in the 33.333c degree heat... With my poor dietary decision, the heat, also my shirt (tried my old Marine Corps DEP shirt. Holds in heat like we're heading for winter). My run took 39:00

Oh yeah! Breakfast was a couple slices of bread dipped in herbed olive oil (my favorite) and a glass of soy milk. Here's to not eating too much cheese again! xD
